Best Standard Def DVD Player under $8,000 used?
Oh, I forgot about the standard def dvd player I bought from a guy right out of his white truck parked with the motor running in a Big Lots parking lot. There's no name on the unit, as the original was partially scraped off. However, I can make ou...
Best Standard Def DVD Player under $8,000 used?
Tom, Danmyers is taking advantage of your naivety. I own Denons 3930ci and 5900. I will sell you both for $5000. They are the perfect complement to each other -- the 3930ci which basically is the same as the 5910ci, has problems outputting video, ...

Your comment makes no sense. If a concert had those speaker banks behind and around the audience, it would be a chaotic experience. You cannot take the scenario and reproduce it in the a/v room and say its the same.
Acquiring an awesome system, but how?

McCormack DNA-1 upgrades by McCormack of Virginia
I have a pair of the deluxe monoblocks in storage right now waiting for the opportunity to mod. They're powerful enough for my inefficient martin logans, but the more power in this instance will be beneficial as to clarity and the like. I would do...
Jitter reduction, best device?
Well, I describe it as hard edged, as oppose to warm like, but shrill works.
Jitter reduction, best device?
I have fiddled with that switch on an EAD Theatermaster Classic and noticed little difference if any. Really did not experiment. I've since switched the processor out with an EAD Theatermaster 8000. The 518 may not be the best anti-jitter device, ...

Fitz pretty much summed up my view and did a much better job. Also, his credentials are impeccable. You naysayers should take up his offer to audition his system if in the area. He and I are 'joined at the hip'.
How can you not have multichannel system
I found this posting over on Audio Asylum in the Hi-Rez forum: "By all means, you should keep an open mind. And you or anyone else in this forum who is curious about multichannel has a standing invitation to hear my system. I am quite serious abou...
Jitter reduction, best device?
I use a Meridian 518 and besides jitter, I rely on its gain function which overcomes the low recording level of many discs issued in the 80s. I would also recommend the EAD 7000 Mk I-III. Still serviceable, and handles jitter and sound is warm. I ...

Amen to that John z, it was a 565 that got me going in mc music.
How can you not have multichannel system
Are you two joined at the hip? I don't remember being called any names and I don't remember calling anyone a name other than stating those who don't like mc music are Luddites, but I didn't single out anyone. I would call the use of the word resen...

Tbg, did you have a big grin on your face when you posted that last reply. Because your new best friend, Tvad, called multichannel an example of trickery. I wonder what he would say about your system with all those magical tweaks you spent thousan...
How can you not have multichannel system
I appreciate Audioholik's excellent research; he found several contributors whose reasons for praising multi-channel sacds were better articulated than mine. All the naysayers keep referring to timbre as the holy grail,or being able to tell instru...
