Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
@nonoise  On the contrary. If the T Podiums have such profound effect on something as delicate as a stick with a motor attached, imagine what they can do with vibrating box!
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
Only my experience and my understanding. Doubt any manufacturer would make such sweeping, absolute statements. There is a YouTube of Max T demonstrating the effect of the Podiums. There are 2 platforms. One with his tech and one with spikes. A...
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
Townshend Podiums will be so effective as to like double the value of any speaker. When the speaker is decoupled from the floor, the vibrations that leaked down to the floor will then come out of the drivers! Almost total transformation.
Ultimate stereo nightmare
Did you switch the ICs to the amp? Every time I had a channel go out it was a blown amp.
Phonostage comparisons
I am enjoying my Grado Epoch3! Do you also load it at 47K? How does it compare to the London? Am thinking of getting a Zesto Andros Deluxe! Love the Zesto sound. It should be beyond my full function Atma-Sphere MP-1. There was some thought of t...
Best sounding low power (under 80watts) Class AB amp?
+3 AGD The new stereo Tempo is almost the same as the upper line Audions for a bit over $5K. The cream of GaN amps. And light weight. Shouldn’t discount all Class D.
After fifty years… amazing. What high end audio can be.
@ghdprentice  I look forward to hearing your system for the third time. Truly, about the best and most effortless I have heard in 50 years. The effortlessness is clearly its forte. Easy to just listen and enjoy. I have heard systems 2 or 3 tim...
Grado Epoch 3
@dogberry I too have Quad 57s. The Epoch3 is a wonderful match wt such “real” SQ. I asked Grado about the proper load. Their position is that MM and MC settings are false and foolish. That the only way to set the cart is to try different sett...
Digital is far better than vinyl
All seriousness aside… Not I started my analog journey when I left for college with a $99 Lenco TT and Nikko receiver wt Quadraflex speakers in a $199 Pacific Stereo package. Even with a bargain analog system, the “natural” qualities of analog ...
Grado Epoch 3
I was very intrigued by all the hype about the Decca London Reference. But, unable to buy one, I was directed to the Grado Epoch3. I was using the great Lyra Atlas SL. The Epoch blew it away. Such silent blacks. Such musical detail. Such incred...
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
Surprised no mention of ATC. Some of the best sound I have ever had was with ATC Anniversary 50s. 6 Class A amps designed for each driver and active crossovers. ATC also designs all its drivers and has been building among the best in studios, ...
Types of Audiophiles
Think about the hardest category is Good Enough is Good Enough. I have touched that state several times and also felt How Could it Get Better? Then kept discovering the SQ, in fact, getting better… mostly much better. Inspiring The Endless Sear...
What Gear Has Disappointed You?
ARC Ref 80S amp. Sold to me as being “a match made in heaven” for my Quad 57s. Not No question that it is an excellent amp, but heavy handed with the Quads. And I never felt any time a suspension of disbelief. Just fatiguing on highs and high...
The character of analog and digital
Indeed, welcome back @millercarbon ! Were you banned or did you just take a break? I owe you for the raves about Townshend and Better Records! @ghdprentice  Your digital is very close to your analog. I was stunned by your digital. But close i...
Upgrading power system
I went gonzo with AC improvements. Now thinking about the Stromtank and selling my Shunyata Triton/Typhon and PS Audio P12. Those are plugged into a dedicated outlet in the wall which uses Oyaide duplexes and 50’ of special Oyaide cable. Tried th...
