Esoteric Players: No Digital Input. WTF?
11-25-08 Dcstep writes:I wonder sometimes is Esoteric and Emm are worried about cutting into their separate DAC and clock sales. It's just something that pops into my mind as I consider various CD/SACD player options. When you're spending lots of ...

Best Fragile CD
I also have the same disc - Atlantic Gold 82524-2. Thanks for the tip that the MoFi is no better. The first pressing Japan for Japan may be better, but I haven't heard it.Regards,
$500 used CD Player Recommendations
I'm still partial to the old Arcam Alpha 9 with the "Ring DAC" technology from dcS. A little lacking in dynamics and jump, but a very sweet sound. Very reliable, and quite restrained styling - not black. It would suit a dining roomRegards,
iPod docking station - Belkin vs Wadia vs Arcam

B & W Naut. 804S-Appropriate power source???
Goodbye, Larry.Sdan, I assume you refer to the Arcam Alpha 10 integrated amplifier. The weakness in the Arcam Alpha 10 integrated amplifier is in the pre-amp stage. I own one of these and when I was transitioning to a pair of separates, the pre-amp...
Filling the void for better sound
Great story, mate. I bought mine welded and filled from Sound Anchor. Next time, perhaps you'll look favorably on this style rather than the "empty constructs". I hate to say this, but some audiophiles caution against filling them right to the top...
Dylan Bootleg Number 8
I saw this in the shop today - but the price gave me pause. The package included 3CDs, a 60-page book and other stuff - around $160. Are there other editions at a cheaper price?Regards,
Sennheiser HD 650's thin sounding?
I've never owned the 650s but my 600s developed more fullness in the bass over time. Perhaps it is too early to definitively say the 650s are bass-light.Regards,

Chris VenHaus (VH Audio) seems to have a selection of the raw material. From the more modest to the very expensive.http://www.vhaudio.com/wire.htmlRegards,
Is music quality moving away from the "audiophile"
10-04-08: Nietzschelover writes:Still, the very first CDs really did suck! They were not even listenable. I mean, c'mon! CD players - completely agree. But not the discs.Regards,
