Digital Bottom Feeding
I also should further add that even the most expensive of my systems might be considered budget by many here.
Digital Bottom Feeding
I should add it has been my experience that, if one considers the environment within which the system is to be used and uses due diligence in selecting compatible components how good a budget system can sound.
Digital Bottom Feeding
I agree with the cost comparison between digital and analog front ends. With analog, at the budget end, the TT/arm/cart can approach 50% or more of the system cost to not be the weakest link.
Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
I have not played with rake angle. I will continue to increase toe-in a little at a time. My listening comes in sessions, as such is an experience in itself.

@arafiq Yes, The Osprey also looks interesting. 50% more power I believe. I remain interested in your take, once auditioned. I am going to look that one up again.
Audiogon Anti-Lowball Offer setting
As a seller I generally know the market value of the gear I am selling. Usually interested in moving the piece, and ask what I believe it should sell for. If I had the choice, I would set the lowball cutoff at 20%.  As a buyer, if someone is askin...
Which DAC is better ?
As you have a new system, use both DACs you have, identify what seems best to you. Get to know your system prior to the purchase of a external (3rd) DAC. Best to know what you are looking to gain with additional purchase.
More power for moderate listening levels?
What you are looking for is more of what the XA25 delivers, power and great sound.
Upgrades that met/exceeded your expectations and those that felt short
Exceeded, replacing a Bryston BDA-1 with a Audio Mirror Tubadour III DAC. The Bryston served me well for ~8 years however the Tubadour provides what I was looking for, tube magic with resolution.

Well I won't be one to be too quick to jump on board.
Step me up from Paradigm Studio 20 v4 bookshelf, seriously.
With a budget of $3000, within either the new or used market, I am sure you can find a pair that improves on the Studio 20s. I once owned the 20s (V4) that you own. Very much enjoyed them, very dynamic, exciting. Then bought a pair of Esoteric MG1...
Amplifier upgrade advice under $2000
I think you should get familiar with your speakers 1st. Then shop for a suitable amplifier. Maybe you will find that you don't need one now, and can continue to save to make a more substantial upgrade when you choose to do so.

@arafiq Yes, I am very interested in your experience with Jim's Blackhawk. That said I don't believe it will have the power you are looking for.
Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
Well after spending some time with the Sterlings I can report that I am very happy with them. Using a single word, love the presentation. Finding they exhibit a wide soundstage solid image.Currently I have them placed such that the center of baffl...
