Jolida Foz SS-X Tube buffer & soundstage expander?
@smrex13 Yes it would cost me $200. I would like the soundstage expansion it provides on some recordings. We are doing well here. Maybe make it to Oregon once Covid is dispensed with. Take Care.Mike
Anyone Have M2Tech Gear? Looking for opinions
@mijostyn  I use the pure music program. Have used it with several converters and DACs. Each time one changes the device one must go into audio setup and change to the new one. It asked you to then reload the program. A very quick operation.

@smrex13  Thanks for the feedback. I have a friend that owns one and would sell it to me. Been somewhat hesitant as I have a tube DAC and tube pre feeding a SS amp which are working very well for me. I may give it a try.Hope things are going well ...

If your source has more than one output you might consider a second converter for the other direction. Could likely find one used and save so money.

I have the M2Tech HiFace USB/SPDIF converter and have enjoyed it with my MacBook pro. No need for a USB cable. The Evo is an upgrade, though can't say how it would compare to your Alpha which is supposed to be very good.
Looking for a CD player
I believe keeping your player and purchasing a DAC is the way to go. Check out MHDT DACs as one possibility. The Orchid is a little over your $1000 budget but is well thought of. Check it out on this forum.
Anyone tried the Denafrips CD transport?
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to your thoughts as the Avatar breaks in.

Great idea not to be in a hurry. Get to know your new components while exploring music. Get back to us when you feel it is time to purchase a integrated amplifier. Given you have the Mani you will need a line level one only.
Integrated Amp or Separates for Vandersteen 1'cs
Given your situation I would lean toward a integrated amplifier. I have not heard the one you have listened to but have heard that the Belles Aria is a good match with the 1Cs. Given your room size and listening levels you do not need more than 50...
TOSLINK OPTICAL cables
The Glass optical cables are glass and very inexpensive. Lifatec is also a good glass optical cable somewhat more expensive however still good value. I used both for video side of my system, coax for audio. One needs to be a little more careful ab...
Converting two-car garage to listening room. What would you do?
Build a rectangular room interior to the garage having length 1.9 times and the width 1.4 times the exterior wall height. Put a ceiling on this room. You would not have to remove garage doors and would have storage space between room and garage doo...
Inexpensive CD Transport...
I own the CXC. Works well for me. The Audiolab also is highly thought of. I think it depends on which type loading mechanism you prefer. The CXC is very well built.

Congrats on your speakers. I believe they are fairy easy to drive so you won't need a great deal amplifier power to drive them. I noticed a Cambridge Audio receiver  on sale for $225 here on AG. Under the amplifier section. Looks to be a good deal...
preamp upgrade suggestion around $2000
Check out Aric Audio.
About to invest in room treatments; GIK, RealTraps, DIY -- what is your experience?
Now that you have rearranged such that your speaker placed along the short wall I agree that the reflection points along the long walls are the 1st place for treatment. I made DIY panels from ATS Acoustics. They have a nice web site. They served m...
