Noob, need help please
I believe one can purchase an integrated amplifier with home theater bypass. The integrated would drive the main speakers. Then one could purchase a modest audio video receiver to drive the center and surround speakers. The integrated would supply...
Another NOOB Question - Surround Sound & Amplifiers
I rum movies on my pole barn via a projector. I use 2-channel audio for it. Works well.
Easiest way to get LP converted to CD (attn Rachmaninoff lovers)
I once had that capability, however no longer do. If I still had I would offer to help. Wish you the best.

You will need to find someone who has a quality TT and A to D converter. They would convert the LP to a digital file which can be read by a computer with a CD drive. The file could then be burned to disc.
Which to Upgrade first? My Amplifier or Speakers
Well, if you want to stay with the Maggie sound however want to improve on the dynamics and transparency, then I would go for an amplifier that will better provide that over the Mac. You could continue up the Maggie line later. It really depends o...
Suggestions for bookshelf speakers that have great dynamics, budget of $500 used.
Uberwaltz, yes, I was thinking that $500 would be more likely to purchase a speaker sounding different as apposed to better. I guess it comes down to how much you enjoy the Monitors.  I have 3 sets of speakers for use in my secondary system, chang...

I believe millercarbon indicated an integrated amplifier if your were to go with a 2-channel.  At your budget and for best sound quality a 2-channel integrated would serve best. There are many late model used ones for sale.

Lots of options with $500 on the used market. I have not had a chance to hear the Revels. From what I have read I have become interested, however have too many speakers pairs.

A receiver has a radio tuner, a preamplifier for input processing, and a amplifier to boost signal strength for the speakers. An integrated amplifier lacks the tuner. Then you have separate preamplifiers/processors and amplifiers. In some home set...

I own a pair of Dali Zensor 1s. I purchased them used ($200) from another AGer who wanted to upgrade to the Zensor 3s. The 3s would be better for a 'largish' room, however can't say how they would compare to the Monitors.A used pair of Paradigm St...
Looking to find out more about the Audio Refinements Complete A power amp...
Audio Refinement was indeed offered by YBA. The Complete integrated is very refined integrated though not in production for some 15 years (longer?). Originally sold for ~$1000. A high value piece for the money at that time. I had one in my system ...
Cables from TT to phono stage to preamp
You likely made a greater improvement by changing out the IC between TT and phonostage than you might gain from changing the phonostage to preamp IC.  Is the new IC of lower capacitance than the IC that was replaced?  What is recommended capacitan...
SACD or not
It seems that the OP doesn't own SACDs. I am in agreement with the post by Chayro. I would purchase a dedicated CD player or transport with DAC. At that budget the best way to get the most from his CD collection.
Please help me decide...
Buy a quality 2-channel integrated. The Yamaha A-S501 is a good one at your budget, has built in DAC. You could use your disc player as a transport into the DAC if it has coax or toslink output.
Budget of components
With that budget one could easily spend 50% of it on speakers provided the speakers were 'the ones' for ones environment.  Not saying one would need too. Room size is a major factor driving speaker price. I would identify the desired speaker/ampli...
