Can Infinity Kappa Polydomes be replaced by ...? English, it might be beneficial to Yoram and others who might read this thread if you could post a link, or clarify which Polydome replacement you tried and what specs were out? The reason I asked is that Orange County Speaker Repair, Simply Speak...
Phillips no longer producing transports Folks, remember this is just a hobby so let's enjoy it. A bit of side discussion doesn't hurt, so long as it's not beating a dead horse.
Can Infinity Kappa Polydomes be replaced by ...? Yoram, a telltale sign Polydomes are cactus is yellowing of the diaphragm, drying and cracking. I wouldn't recommend replacing the 3" Polydome midrange diaphragms in your Kappa 7's with the 2" Polydomes from the RS-5B as the power handling and dis...
Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use? I previously owned a modded Ayon CD-5s and am now running an Aesthetic Romulus tube cd player. The Romulus is certainly analogue sounding. It has as similar sound to the CD-5s, albeit with less bass slam and fewer bells and whistles.
Phillips no longer producing transports Iso, i'm pretty much the same. My next cdp will be a Vitus SCD-025 which I plan to keep for the long haul. One spare laser on hand is good insurance.
Floorstanders or stand-mounted with a sub? 09-10-13: James63Well there you have it. It only took 9 replies to go from a $3,500 speaker to a $30,000...Sorry, couldn't help it :D
Any updates to the Boulder 865 integrated coming? Joe, let us know how your auditions go. Edgar's review is pretty honest and informative. The Stereophile review is also worth a read - http://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/boulder_865_integrated_amplifier/index.html
Floorstanders or stand-mounted with a sub? Buy a pair of Magico S5's and you wont need a sub, and integration of the drivers in terms of balance/coherence is perfect ;)
Phillips no longer producing transports Isochronism, in the unlikely event your Phillips Pro2 transport fails in future the most likely part to fail would be the laser. If you contact Naim they should be prepared to sell you a laser assembly to keep on stock. My next cd player will have...

Room size & choosing speakers Good advice Bol, thanks for chiming in.
Room size & choosing speakers I agree with Tboooe, i'd go for the 805D's and add a subwoofer. The sub will give you adjustments to tune the response to your room which is a key advantage, however I would recommend staying with B&W. Have you had a look at the B&W DB1? I...
Floorstanders or stand-mounted with a sub? Having owned both standmounts and floorstanders, I personally think the better way to go is to buy a pair of floorstanding speakers which sound coherent and well balanced. I've seen a friend stuff around for years trying to integrate a sub with hi...
Downsizing my system from tubes to an integrated Not sure about your budget, but you should also consider the Hegel integrateds and Modwright KWI-200. Dan Wright is a gentleman and builds terrific gear with great attention to detail.
No more big power supplies for preamps Personally I want to simplify my system and reduce my box count & recently moved from Boulder separates to a Vitus SIA-025. The Vitus' linestage is made from one single buffer module which is also used in the Vitus SL-102.. so..really good. Th... |
