Watts up with that?
Yes of course I foorgot as I was writing but your assumption about adequate power is still correct.
best place for designing room w/ ur equip
If your looking for agreement you should find it here. I don't use HT myself but those in walls are rarely ever as good as freestanding speakers. The typical HT installer is so used to demands over unobstrusive aesthetics that they probably don't ...
Watts up with that?
My non mathematical answer is that 60 watts is plenty but it kinda depends on the amps output trannies if it is not an OTL. I can tell you that my 80 lb integratedb class A Jadis is also rated at 60 watts and seems relatively impervious to load. I...
Soundlab Speakers - Budget Amp Suggestions
Why don't you consider the Sanders Sound Systems amplifiers,(used of course in all cases given your budget) they are made/voiced for panel speakers. Spectron also makes some veryt popular higher powered amps. The ICE powered H20 amp etc, all these...
Upscale audio advice
I looked it up. If you Pre uses 6H23 then any of the 6922 family of tubes can be directly substituted. It has been my experience that using one of th NOS/OS choices that Upscale has on offer will sound better than the Sovtek. Others may disagree b...
Upscale audio advice
Your problem is simple- either your preamp uses a tube that is a direct equivalent of a 6922 or it is the other type which can only be replaced with the same tube. If you have a 6922 whatever it is called in Russian you have the options to roll a ...
Best speaker on used market around 10,000.00
Speakers preferences are subjective by nature and unfortunately the only way to even get a less than ideal way to audition them in a variety of venues. The usual suspects are the few B&M stores, the big shows, other audio people's homes, free ...
Oppo-105 vs Oppo-93 + W4S DAC2 for stereo.
Do you happen to know the likely date of the release of the new Oppo. So many good things have been said of the earlier and current Oppos I think I might buy one. I don't have a dealer that I know carries Oppo. I live in CT but travel down to NJ 2...
Vintage Crown D 150A II Amp -- How good was it?
Some of those early SS amps really were terrible, Never was a big fan of Crown even back in the mid 1970s. I found I liked the typical but lower powered Kenwoods, Pioneers, Yamahas etc. McIntosh was waaay to expensive. My buddies all of whom had s...
Speaker pairings with Pass INT-30A
Joseph Audio Pulsars for one I would sure like to hear what those Wilson Monitors sound like. I can never get any dealer to play them, but they got a really good review but cost a ton. If you like a really high definition sound you might go for Vo...
is it safe to clean records with isopropanol ?
I wonder why it is always Isopropyl Alchol and never Ethanol. You can obtain fairly high purity Ethanol 91% at almost any drugstore. I realize this is off topic but may in fact be relevant. Some very fancy Vodka type cleaning solution bottles may ...

Ask Peter Brueninger, he might remember you can ping him over on Audio Asylum, where he is a frequent contributor.
Aragon 4004 vs. McCormack DNA-1?
I owned Big Aragon amps in the past and would steer you towards the McCormack. The Aragon's have a more SS sound regardless of preamp used.I am kind of surprised that they cost roughly the same.
Warm, lush and smooth interconnect help
I strongly recommend Cardas Golden Reference. They make other interconnects with golden in the name those are the ones to consider. They don't cost your entire budget, which is nice, whatever you do don't get the neutral reference or anything else...
Channel Change
Just curious why is it so necessary? I can't think of a really good reason to switch, which you could do if really needed to just by swtching the interconnects. That is probably why current pre-amps don't have it.
