What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock? Thanks for the invite! Geography precludes my participation, however. Maybe next "time". Anyway, I'll "watch" for the outcome of the listening test.
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock? Sounds like a fun test. If you wanted to blind people in the first part, you could make it unknown to the participants whether or not the initial listening session has the clock deployed. They would be told that the clock was either in possesion o...
whats changed in audio & is it better My system is a hybrid of store-bought and internet-bought pieces. These forums are helpful as starting points, but the store is the only place to listen and audition, usually. One exception to this was the Odyssey Extreme monos, which were posted ...
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock? Rcprince:I would be VERY interested in the outcome of such a listening test, and would suggest doing the test with the participants not knowing whether the clock is in the room or not. Hopefully, the test will proceed like "clockwork" and you can ...
Liquid CD treatments? I've done the following:Listened sequentially to the same CD as follows:1) With no treatment, for the "baseline"2) Then, after Shinola-->no discernible difference3) Then same disc, after Auric Illuminator 2 AND the black marker on the edges and...
You might be an audiophile if... ....you overhear some clods at a bar talking about a "3-way", and you think they're discussing a type of dynamic loudspeaker design.
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock? Well, so far I'm remaining on the "unconvinced" side of the fence. However, with respect to whether there's any evidence that this device has a discernible effect, absence of proof is not the same thing as proof of absence, either.
What do you hear? Some nearly (but not quite) inaudible noise from the speakers is considered to be normal, even in a high end system. If it's inaudible from the listening position, then it would seem to be of no practical concern whatsoever. I'd forget about it.
The best speaker you ever heard? Jctedinburgh:I had the Avanti 3's on my original short list but never got a chance to audition them, since there are no local dealers. Everything I've ever read about them has been glowingly positive, however. Welcome to the "Satisfied with my Lou...
Review: Odyssey Audio Odyssey Stratos Extreme Monoblocks Amplifier Already see two spelling errors. Good thing these amplifiers are more accurate than my spelling. Oh well.
Doug Henning disappearing act I sold some interconnects with an OBO proviso, and stated that reasonble offers were welcome, but that something like 10 dollars would not be considered "reasonable". I sold pronto and both buyers were at or near the asking price.Personally, it se...
Goldman Audio....Audio Done Right I've had 100% great experiences with all Audiogon sellers, both private and commercial, and both of the main local high end audio dealers, so I feel very lucky. I'm not sure why either, because I ask a LOT of questions and tend toward extreme fast...
Benchmark DAC 1 or Musical Fidelity Tri Vista? Apmaher,Thanks for the input. I don't doubt that the DAC's you mention are fine units. However, I am now "done", and am extremely pleased with the Dodson. No changes for the forseeable future in anything anywhere in my system. Others may want to c...
Floorstander or Sub/Sat FWIW, I had floorstanders (Paradigm Studio 100 V 3) that sounded much better with a sub-bass unit (Rel Storm 3), but it was vital to have the Rel meticulously adjusted by a trained salesperson. I now have Intuitive Design Summit Loudspeakers which...
OK to use Bi-wire cable for single post speaker??? I have biwired speaker cables with spades stacked on top of each other under the binding post screws and it works fine. |
