Audio Physics ...Bright or forward?
Vaughn3d said:"I auditioned the Spark III against the Tempo III and preferred the Spark...give them a listen before choosing the more expensive Tempo."EXCELLENT point, IMO. The best sounding speakers within a line are NOT necessarily the most expe...
Star Sound Sistrum pltfm? About to pull trigger.
AAAHHHH, just saw Dennis' system, (waayy cool, btw!) and the price tag for the 101 is 550 bucks! Oh well. Sounds like it's well worth it. Unanimity is pretty darn rare among us A'gon-izers, so I'm still going for it. (Plus it's pretty darn impress...
Star Sound Sistrum pltfm? About to pull trigger.
Cenline wrote: "I just hate when I get better resolution and better dynamics with a lower noise floor." LOL, yeah, me too. (Sounds like you're the kind of guy who'd enjoy my "alien abduction" followup thread! Don't forget to check out the link!)==...
Star Sound Sistrum pltfm? About to pull trigger.
Tvad,It wasn't clear in the initial thread (sorry), but the player wasn't totally falling off: what was happening is that when the player moved, one of the points would tip onto its side, and the player would tilt a little. {{For some reason, this...

Couldn't you just put some black laquer (like from the hardware shop or a paint store) in the ding and forget about it?
Audio Physics ...Bright or forward?
Mike (Brm 1):It sounds like you're working with a heck of a great dealer. That kind of customer service is outstanding and absolutely warrants support, IMO. What OTHER speakers does this dealer carry? {{{{The only Audio Physics speakers I've ever ...
Review: VMPS RM40 Speaker
I think your review demonstrates how important it is to listen to a product for one's self prior to a major purchase. Did you audition these thoroughly prior to purchase? Of course, that's not foolproof either, as things often sound better, or wor...
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock?
Geoffkait:Your suggestion that testing on an unfamiliar system being potentially confusing is a point I hadn't considered, and seems like a very valid concern. That IS something to think about. With respect to the guarantee, does it cover return s...
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock?
Geoffkait:You may be right with respect to my opinion. So far I've not tested the device. The only way I'd consider its purchase is if I were allowed to do a test, blinded, using a couple of bags, as described above by RCPrince. I didn't state wit...
Monitors for a bedroom system.......
Um, how about used Totem Tabus?
"...AND THE WINNER IS...?"
My Onkyo Integra DPC 8.5 is okay, for around 700 bucks. I pretty much won't listen to it (except for SACD, of course) without the Dodson DAC in the signal path. Huge, huge, huge, HUGE improvement with the Dodson (huge).
Ultimate Amplifier for the next 20 Years
The Odyssey Extreme Monoblocks have lots of power (200-300 watts per channel) and current (180,000 microfarads of capacitance EACH), and a class A/B design. I leave mine on all the time and they don't get hot, but do stay warm. I reviewed them her...
What's the deal with the Machina Dynamica Clock?
Although subtle, it appears as though skepticism is beginning to emerge as a predominant theme among posters to this thread.....
Newbie looking for system suggestions
Wow, not a bad "problem" to have! I'd ask Duane. I always ask Duane. Duane knows everything. So I ask him everything. And he's always right (except for once with a preamp--sorry about that one, Duane).
Review: Dakiom A103 and R103 Tweak
Thanks to all of the above for responding.A new chapter MAY be in the making for this. A certain "Tvad" has come up with an interesting idea:Now that the system has substantially changed, what about the Dakiom Feedback Stabilizers? Were they helpi...
