Subwoofer Question
Chelan313,For what it's worth, in my opinion that was an excellent and very informative post. I'm considering going to a double sub set-up myself. Thank you for providing some very helpful information for making that decision down the line.-Bill
CIA D200's Vs. Odyssey Stratos Extreme Monos ?
Musicalmaniac: I bought the amps used, so they were already broken in.I wouldn't be too concerned though, since Klaus will back them to the nth degree if there are problems. I stand by my original prediction that you're going to love these amps!-Bill
CIA D200's Vs. Odyssey Stratos Extreme Monos ?
Musicalmaniac:I wrote a review of the Extremes on Audiogon, which I own and love. The ONLY possible candidate for an amplifier upgrade that I'm even willing to CONSIDER is the Intuitive Design Monoblocks made specifically for the Intuitive Design ...
CIA D200's Vs. Odyssey Stratos Extreme Monos ?
Musicalmaniac: I'll bet you end up loving the Extremes. They're among the best amps in existence, with very little out there that's better.
Subwoofer Question
Totally agree with both of the above posts. In one of the threads (Velodyne Digital Drive in Stereo, or something like that), one versus two subwoofers is hotly debated. I came away with this: Below 60 hertz or so, subwoofers are non-directional t...
Let's add a Spell Check to Audiogon
This is a wonderful thread! Thanks for the laughs, guys!(Duke: BTW, I did the bass/base thing once even though it's also one of MY pet peeves.)
Subwoofer Speake Cable - Important??
I upgraded the Rel Storm 3 stock cable to an aftermarket version which is much thicker and has nicer connectors, etc. It looks great, and I like it, and am satisfied. I cannot say that I noticed a huge difference in sound, although I did not go ba...

Intuitive Design Pingoras or even Denalis, at least worth a listen. Maybe even the Summits (possibly too small for your space, though).
Please, DON'T TOUCH

Late Night Listening When Wife Wants Music OFF
Sony Discman with Denon closed headphones, waaayyy less than a thousand. Haven't tried Dakiom's headphone stabilizers but I might.

Two people to consult: Otolaryngologist and audiologist. It may not be sensorineural hearing loss, but even if it is, I suspect that in the next ten to twenty years hair cell auditory receptor regenerative therapies will have been developed. In th...
Benefits to Denon 3805 upgrade for Studio 100's
Current delivery is a biggie, and that's proportional to capacitance.
Late Night Listening When Wife Wants Music OFF
Stax does (or at least did) make a closed version of the their earspeaker. It's probably shown on the website at Yamasinc.
Which components knocked you out on first listen?
Years ago: Audio Physic Caldera Loudspeakers, the older, three box version. Nothing else ever came close, listening to multiple speakers over a span of several years, until I found Intuitive Design Summits, which I think may be even better.
