The best speaker you ever heard?
"laugh all you want..."-AndrewdoanNobody but an idiot would laugh at the enlightened and successful efforts of a seasoned audiophile such as yourself. I pity anyone who would laugh at a fellow hobbyist who has put together a satisfying system and ...
Dodson Audio - Still in Business?
"Was told the same thing as mentioned above...that a family issue had forced him to put things on hold until the beginning of May. A little frustrating to say the least..."This would tend to corrborate the story even further: now we're 3 for 3. A ...
Who makes speakers with relaxed high freq.?
Aerial 7B's might be something to consider.
Equipment that has made you 'stop' looking?
Intuitive Design Summit loudspeakers (model PSL 624). I wrote an unsolicited review back in November, 2005, and it's posted on Audiogon. The review sounds over the top, but every word is true. These speakers are just magical.
Help a newbie on an entry two-channel system
I've heard great things about the Plinius integrated, the 8200, I think. Totally ignorant, even in terms of hearsay, about the Musical Fidelity X line.
Dodson Audio - Still in Business?
I checked with a Dodson dealer who had been told the same thing that I was told.
Help a newbie on an entry two-channel system
What TweekGeek said! (He said it very WELL, imo.)Might want to consider the offerings from Klaus Bunge in the Odyssey line in addition to the other excellent suggestions offered.

Burned out hi fi salesman
Wow, this thread is amazingly grim. I've had great experiences with all local dealers, plus all buyers and sellers on Audiogon. Is that an exceptional experience?
Dodson Audio - Still in Business?
I own a Dodson 217 Mark II D DAC myself. In a phone conversation, Mr. Dodson told me that a family situation has arisen, which needs to be taken care of. He said that he's putting things on "hold" until the end of April or early May, this year.
Warmer speakers for live, large, and brighter gear
Aerial 7B's might be a consideration.
Looking for headphones, any suggestions?
Robm321,That's a good idea with the decibel meter that I hadn't thought of. Smart, imo.
I love my Vandersteen's but . . . . . . . .
Stumpie:As a former Paradigm owner (just like yours, except mine were V 3's), your excellent story doesn't necessarily surprise me. Although the Paradigms are sometimes bashed, I really think they're excellent speakers that do a LOT of things very...
Looking for headphones, any suggestions?
Off topic, but a suggestion for a person under 20 who still has great hearing (I'm a dad and I'm 43 but my audiophilia had taken firm root at your age--Also, I apologize if this sounds like a lecture): Whatever you buy, do not listen for long peri...
Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
Yes, I agree that it's necessary to have first-hand experience with something prior to being able to debate it competently. However, I'm not in a position to assess with certainty whether or not any given Audiogon thread participant has such exper...
