Magic Box by Mondial
Yes. I induced a cable hum when I had cable music dircted to my stereo system. This occurred both with the digital output as well as the RCA. So.. I bought a Mondial Magic Box and connected it. Hum is gone! I can't tell you what is in it as mine i...
Buzz through speakers w/amp on & pre off
I thought that it was unwise to have the amp on with the pre-amp off.
Ever gone from seperates to an integrated?
I went from separates (Audiolab 2000C plus (2) Hafler 9500's) which I still use in another system, to a Jadis Orchestra Reference. Absolutely a killer integrated amplifier! My wife, as well as some of my audiophile friends have given very high mar...
Speaker suggestion for Jadis Orchestra Reference
I own a JOR and am quite happy with it. I have used it to drive 2 speaker systems with varied results. It does not work well with my Martin Logan SL3's (predictable). It is abolutely magical with my Harmon Kardon Sixtys (~92db sensistivity ? Ohms ...

Dunlavy repair
Audio-Video Logic at 3025 100th Street in Urbandale, Iowa, 50322 (515)-727-2279 bought out the remaining parts and stock that Dunlavy had and can repair your Dunlavy's. They have a web site @ audiovideologic.com. Good Luck.
Hi-Fi wanna-be needing advice on an Amp purchase
How about a YBA Integra DT integrated? I've seen them on A-Gon for about $1200. The extra $200 is a reach but quality is high. Happy listening with whatever you choose.
Speaker suggestion for McCormack DNA 225 DLX
What speaker cables are you using?
Who has the oldest speakers?
I have a pair of Rectilinear III's which I bought in 1969. These still function well although some of the surround foam on the midrange drivers is crumbling off.
Magnum Dynalab 205 FM Signal Sleuth focusing bad?
No... I don't exactly know how to calibrate the MD 205, BUT, from my experience aligning the tuning coils on an old HeathKit radio, it probably requires both a signal generator, and an oscilliscope. My advice, for what it's worth, is that the $25 ...
Is this for real?
Is an engineer out there somewhere who could explain just how a test tone can "demagnatize" copper? If the explaination is feasable I would be a believer.
Is this for real?
I think that this will really work to extract somewhere between $20 and $110 from your wallet, depending on how much you might need to have extracted. The thinner wallet will allow for more comfortable seating and hence, better listening.
Christmas Music
Christmas Time with the Judd's, superb on tubed amps.
Looking for Silent Fan Cooling f my ARC Tube AMP
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that blowing air onto hot tubes can result in "microcracks" and is not recommended.
Jadis Orchestra, who has heard them?
I own a Jadis Orchestra Reference which I bought for my bedroom system driving a pair of Martin Logan SL3s. When it arrived, a fuse blew on the preamp in my main system (Audiolab/Hafler biamped/Harmon Kardon 60s),so to please my wife I pressed the...
