Custom Tuning Conspiracy @kenjit - Assuming that such a company did exist, here's a couple of questions: (1) How would the customer specify their personal design requirements? (2) Would it be an in-home process to account for the rest of the systems and room acoustics? ...
I have found out why new cables and tweaks actually work! @erik_squires - As I was reading your original post, I was thinking that this concept, however tongue and check, aligned with your room first perspective, then I saw you were the OP and was entertained. @tomcy6 - Depending on how your friend w...
What is the most important cable in your system The only factual answer is the last cable you connect is the most important because without it your system won't work. I can't really provide any useful advice other than if you have two sets, then put them in one way and listen for several weeks...
Power cable break in? @carlsbad - In my communications with Mike Morrow related to my MA4 balanced interconnect, he said that he recommends hanging their cables when not in use as they require a minimal break-in period if stored rolled up. The estimated time was 24-48...
Has anyone heard of Audiocadabra cables? @carlsbad - Ironically, their power cord looks like an Anticables design, except that Anticables doesn't use that design for their power cables.
What's the oddest thing in your music collection? @simao - What did you think about it?
Soundstage drastically worsened when I replaced a solid state AV amp with tubes. Switch back to the previous setup, but keep the extension cord. The effect won't necessarily be the same for the two amps, but it might give you an idea of how much it could be impacting things.
Morrow Audio 1m MA4 Balanced Interconnect (12/16/2022) I'm probably closing in on +200 hours at this point. I can say that last night when I was listening it was anything but satisfying. I don't know if it's related to the cable, cable break-in, or just not being in a listening mood. ...
What's the oddest thing in your music collection? No odd, but I think lesser known. Christmas Classics with Harp & Oboe Christmas Classics 2 with Harp & Oboe 2 Both are very clean recordings to my ear and an excellent listen, particularly for the season. It appears that neither ...
Morrow Audio 1m MA4 Balanced Interconnect (12/12/2022) My system was once again attention grabbing last night. I was listening to the album Looking for You by Allan Taylor and decided to go ahead and continue listening to the last 4 or 5 songs. I was surprised when the next song was fr...
Morrow Audio 1m MA4 Balanced Interconnect @chayro - I could see speaker cables being annoying to break in since you have to actually have music playing constantly. My cable is between my DAC and integrated, so I just have to leave the DAC on and playing which is easy and not disruptive i...
Has anyone ever tried cables made with OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) Copper? How many cable manufactures are out there that maintain the same exact design other than the conductor material where a true "all other things being equal" comparison can be made? I know that this is true for Iconoclast by Belden designed by Gale...
Morrow Audio 1m MA4 Balanced Interconnect (12/10/2022) I have not been able to spend much time listening, but I thought that I'd provide an update. When I first hooked up the Morrow Audio MA4 cables I was immediacy impressed. My friend received multiple texts with the descriptions of w...
Do Costly XLR Cables Make A Difference? @tweak1 - That's interesting to hear. The local shop that I purchased it from (used) will repair Pathos I'm fairly certain. Also, I'm a member of a Pathos group on FB and one of the members works at Pathos and is routinely asking questions and s...
Morrow Audio 1m MA4 Balanced Interconnect @jjss49 - I used the word objectively on purpose. I'd be shocked if anyone didn't prefer the sound of my system with the Morrow Audio cables compared to it with the Audioquest cables, but you're right in that everything is subjective in the end. |
