Any problems with Springsteens DualDisc?
When I played this disk the CD portion sounded in parts like there smudges on it, with some crackles & low pops. There were no issues when using with the car CD player. I burned a copy of the CD side onto a Maxell CD-R and now am experiencing ...
Cable confusion
As solid a bargain as any...Element Cable...the twisted interconnect is available in XLR and the twisted speaker cable is availble in bi-wire & single wire configurations. I am running an all Ayre system with Aerial 10-T's and am hard pressed ...
Subwoofer cable for REL Strata III for LFE .1
The manual recommends staying away from the Y cable.
Speaker Terminology
Thanks to both of you for your direction. I'll round up the book and check out the website! Thanks again!
Center Channel Needed?
Appreciate all of the responses. With a total of five weighing in, it appears that it is 5-0 in favor of adding a center to the current mix. Not sure I would be able to find just one 10T, so will begin looking for the Aerial CC5 Center. Thanks aga...
Owners of Cary 308,308T, Arcam FMJ 33 or Ayre CX-7
If you are going used you won't be able to beat the Arcam FMJ 23. I've had the 23,and 33 and believe that the 23 gives up very little ground to the 33. Dynamics are great, soundstage is wide & deep and the vocals on it are amazing. I am curren...
Old CRT
I appreciate both of your posts....I have had a CRT widscreen TV for about three years but with all of the newer technology did not know how the CRT's stacked up against it. Since posting I have done several web searches and there does seem to be ...
Interconnect downstream flow
Wow...really getting a ton of good information but the last two post mentioning output impedence have really tweaked my interest level. Kurt, I don't have a phono but my current system does double for 2-channel & HT. Right wrong or indifferent...
Arcam FMJ 33 versus Ayre CX-7
Thanks Andy,I went out and got the Sterophile issue today and the FMJ 33 did indeeed receive an extremely favorable review. What really drove my interest of the Ayre is that their pre-amp is outstanding and I thought the synergies between it and t...
Amplifier reviews from Hardesty's
Artar1,Appreciate you taking the time to post to the amp thread. Relative to reveiwers, I would agree with you that my own ears should be the ultimate judge, however that said, I live in Charlotte and it would be at least a five hour drive to hear...
Theta Casanova or CAL ssp-2500
Besides asthetics you are gaining the ability to put your amp into either normal or cool bias plus the flexibility for setting the number of channels you want running for each setting. Stero can be set through the Cal SSP where only the front &...
Aerial 10-T ---Single Wire, Bi-Wire, & Bi-Amp
Stehno,Based largely off of one of your earlier post I auditioned the AU24 speaker cables and was blown away by the level of detail associated with them. I am integrating a Theta Dreadnaught 1 into the system and with the cabability with it to bi-...
Amplifier reviews from Hardesty's
It's interesting that the Ayre V-1X did not get mentioned in the review while the Ayre V-5x did. The issue seemed to indicate that while the Theta Dreadnaught 2 was more powerful and dynamic for movies, the Dreadnauhgt 1 still had it beat for two ...
Cardas Neutral Ref vs Harmonic Tech Pro 9 Plus
Mick,Am keeping the Cardas gold inter-connects, it's the speaker cable I am looking to decide on....thanks to Mitch2 and Mike for the feedback on the Cardas Neutral as well as Stehno's input on the Audience AU 24 speaker cable. I have found a used...
DVD player recomendations
Would go with the Arcam FMJ unit, however the Cal Audio 2500 is right at the top as well. Frankly I have a lot of trust in Widesceen review and the following DVD players are currently be utilized in this months "reference systems"Denon THX Ultra D...
