I got my 2.4's running. I sent one low freq driver in to Rob at Thiel and he run it through a scan and he found it was okay. So I looked at the connections inside the cabinet a lot better than I did before I sent it in. I looked it really good ove...

Thanks JafantYes damaged in freight. The previous owner had no problem that I encountered with the driver. When I got them the next day I hooked them up and that driver was cutting in and out. When it was on it had a static sound. I called Rob and...

I got my 2.4’s about three weeks ago. One lower frequency driver is being sent off to Rob for rebuild. While those speakers are getting a vacation I thought I could do some upgrades if any are available. Could you tell me about any. I think it has ...
A nice discussion of reviewers priorities.
roxy54, tomcarr, bdp24Art sticks out to me most probably because of the settings or stories he precedes his reviews with. I will  give Herb's reviews a better ear. Maybe go back a year or so and read them again. Thanks.

CleedsVery good suggestion. But I am not very observant. I thought Art Dudley maybe liked similar things to me, but I am not very sure. And I have read his stereophile articles since he started there. So maybe I am asking for assurance? I don't kn...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have read many articles from those reviewers but I have never really known where they come.I feel like many reviewers try to benefit their readers but I don't try to read to much in between the lines of what they say....
Dealers hijacking the discussions
+1 folkfreakI appreciate all the dealers and manufactures insight. I have to say that I even treat the ordinary audiophile on these threads with a grain of salt until I can tell where they are coming from. Some of the others that have posted for a...
What makes you build a system around an amplifier?
I agree with Roxy and Charles.I thought randy-11 would build around a fuse from all his posts I have seen, not a power cord.
I’d appreciate opinions from RMAF 2017 Show attendees on the Elac Adante AF61
I heard the Elac's. Nonoise mentioned them in the last show he attended and so I wanted to make sure I got a listen. Extremely good sound I thought.  Probably in the top 10% of everything that was at the RMAF for me. My preferences are for natural...
Is anyone going to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest?
Two left ears On Friday I was there. I saw and heard new speakers built in Kentucky designed and spec'd by Ryan of Vapor Audio. There sounded very good with Exogal amps.Duke Lajune of Audio Kensis had some excellent speakers driven by just a modif...
No-one talks about Rowlands anymore
+1 RoxyTo me his stuff sounds not only extremely refined but extremely musical. To me someone can put his stuff in a wide variety of systems and it will sound great musically. Rowland doesn't need us to talk about them they, are very busy. He does...
