2 tape decks- 1 tape monitor loop
Thanks for those thoughts. I will look into them if i have to. I was hoping to use the Y connectors I have here to save some $$$$ but don't want to damage anything. There is another post going on of similarity but the guy is not refering to 2 tape...
Retail?
Is the OP really asking is it fair that the seller is only going to loose $300.00 from the sale of his item from what he bought it for new?Lets put this in perspective. If you bought your house in 1965 for $22,000 and want to sell it now, would yo...

Tracking force and Unipivot tonearms
I would have to think something is wrong somewhere. I would want my setup to allow me to tweek the VTF up or down to fine tune the sound. I would start with your gauge. Are you certain it is acurate?
Amplifier power versus maximum speaker input power
Roscoeiii,Thank you for clearing that up. This was an issue I had a while back and not so now as I use a 6 wpc SET and I am able to use most of the volume control (especially with the phono section). I now know the importance of amp/ pre amp match...
A Manufacturer that pays return shipping
I believe in the quality of all of my audio components but also know that humans make them and that humans are not perfect. I was brought up to understand that there are no guarantees in life and that if I can't afford to play I won't.
Amplifier power versus maximum speaker input power
The drawback I had with high power amplifiers driving efficient speakers is that I couldn't bring my volume control much past 9:00 on the dial. This is not a good idea since most pre amps sound better if more of the volume dial is used.
Hey MC-2105 owners...
Don't know much about the B&W's but Klipsch like low powered tube amps best.
A Manufacturer that pays return shipping
"Actually, all items that are still under warranty should be returned back with no shipping charges. "If that was done the manufactureres would have to raise their prices to offset this added expence to them.
ARC PH7 Owners is it worth updating to new 5881
" I called Leonard at ARC to express this view. His reply to the assertion that the PH7 had a design flaw was to tell me the “upgrade” cost $250 plus shipping."I thought Leonard retired a year or two ago?
How do I remove gunk from a Lyra Delos cartridge?
Try Last Stylus Cleaner. Believe it or not this product cleaned up the crud on one of my cartridge needles better than Magic Eraser could.
VPI SDS capacitor question
If it's not broke, don't fix it. If it sounds good, leave it alone.
Is there a run-in time for Dynavector XX-2?
I would love to try that cartridge, but my system can't handle such low output without a SUT. Anyway, a quick check states the recommended loading on that cartridge is 30 ohms. As for break in, don't know for sure but I would imagine upwards of 30...
Benefits of brand synergy
Looks like responses are all over the place. No surprise here. It's an individual thing and no right or wrong answer. For me personally, amp & pre amp same brand. Rest doesn't matter.
Getting and keeping records clean................
"SSo, has the steam cleaning craze faded?"Not for me. I first start with a steamer to loosen up any debris on the record. Then do my cleaning on a VPI 16.6. Then finish it off with a steam rinse.
