Higher powered but efficient amp with the imaging of a Pass XA-25?
@atmasphere Thanks! The Spatial X5 are really terrific speakers. Clayton and his crew have done a wonderful job with them. And I know they particularly shine with tube amps. But they just were not right for my situation. One correction: the Spati...

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your experiences and recommendations. You have given me plenty of food for thought. I will see what changes the Rogue preamp brings and then make some decisions. If I can remember I will update this thread but it l...

@jayctoy Do you have direct experience with these amps driving speakers in the Reference line? Tell me more, like sonic characteristics with these speakers.
Higher powered but efficient amp with the imaging of a Pass XA-25?
@russ69 If I do it will be for a pair of Joseph Audio Pulsar2 Graphene, Fritz Cararra Be, Sonos faber Olympica Nova, or maybe Harbeth 30.2. As you can see I like stand-mount speakers. I think you would be surprised at what I am getting from these ...

@verdantaudio Thank you for the suggestions. After I incorporate the RP-7 and explore its capabilities I will investigate the AVM line.
Higher powered but efficient amp with the imaging of a Pass XA-25?
@chorus Bricasti M3 with streaming card (Qobuz) > Benchmark LA4 (soon to be replaced by Rogue RP-7) > Rowlands > KEFs and two Gallo TR-3D subs (via LA4). I have a couple of CD spinners too but really never use them anymore. And I have a N...

@dweller The BAT VK-255SE does sound intriguing. Thanks!

@soix I did try the Audion's. I didn't care for them. Thin sounding, no grunt at all. Plenty of clean detail, but it takes more than that. I had a Voyager ordered but canceled it. Sounds like a very good amp, but perhaps not much different from wh...
Who Tried Power Conditioners Over The Years and No Longer Use Them Today, Any Why?
Solutions in search of a problem: I have two 20 amp dedicated circuits to my audio system. I was not aware of a power supply problem but thought I would give a PS Audio regenerator a try. I could hear no difference so I returned the unit. Then I b...
Seeing sounds and music.....
While I have experienced visual synesthesia from music, for me it is more often physical sensations, experienced as though in the body. Not movement per se, but physical sensation with emotional content attached. Not easy to describe.Great thread.
Free Shipping - Be Careful!
I have used USPS Express Mail extensively for delicate and expensive items (photographic lenses) and have never had an issue. UPS and FedEx, particularly UPS is quite a different story.
KEF Reference 3 or Raidho X2?
I recently replaced a pair of Spatial Audio X5 with KEF Reference 1's. The 1's are far less fussy for proper setup, and to my ears and in my room (and with my gear) they image better than the X5's. The image is larger, more enveloping, and with a ...
Spatial Audio Labs
I have a pair of X5's. They are the most revealing speaker I have ever owned, which is a bit surprising given how relaxed they are. Any upstream changes are clearly evident. The tweeter is probably the most natural sounding in my experience. Prope...

Spatial X5. Wonderful!
Low gain dac!
I agree with GeorgeHiFi. I had a similar problem resulting in tube noise from the preamp. I tried Rothwell attenuators (after the pre), which did help with the noise but the sound lost life. I replaced my BHK preamp with a low gain pre (Benchmark)...
