Denafrips Terminator 2 bs. ?
Buy a used Terminator plus like your friend has instead of a new (standard) Terminator 12th.  They are about the same price and a much better value.
JJ preamp tubes - repeated problems
JJ’s have proven to be the most unreliable and poorest sounding tubes I’ve used in any of my tube electronics.  ymmv.  “Twilight era of tube amps”.  I guess only time will tell.  My money is on tubes.
Comparing streamer/DACs between $5-10k
The Cardas high speed USB should be a nice improvement over what is packaged with the streamer.  Also keep in mind that both the cable and Venus need to break/settle in for a few hundred hours until you’re listening at full resolution.  Be patient...
Looking for 200 watt Amp to drive Dynaudio Heritage speakers
@atmasphere I am not necessarily disputing you. It’s an observation on my part based on the Class D amps that I have either owned, or listened to in my systems.  My point here is the more I listen to Class D amps and the more I read comments or ta...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
I find the comments regarding Class D amps lacking “soul” very interesting when compared to good Class A or AB SS amps and tube amps. I recently purchased some Class D mono blocks to be used in lieu of tubes during the summer and could not describ...
Looking for 200 watt Amp to drive Dynaudio Heritage speakers
@bluethinker Check out the thread about the Coda 5.5.  I’m not personally familiar with Coda but they get a lot of very good press.  Also, weight and heat wise seem to be right on the line of what may be manageable for most people.  The comments r...
Looking for 200 watt Amp to drive Dynaudio Heritage speakers
@bluethinker Remembering what led up to your purchase of the CJ amp, I think as you’ve already found you’ll be hard pressed to do better than the CJ amp you already have and your Dynaudio Heritage Specials.  That is assuming you’re getting enough ...
Anyone Heard the BAT Rex 3 DAC?
Buy it then we’ll both know 🤓.  Sorry everyone else private joke.

+1 It takes a little bit of time for the changes to soak in. Going from a Node to the N150, the changes don’t necessarily smack you in the face like other component changes might.  But very soon you’ll be listening and thinking to yourself how go...
New streamer
I use Furutech FPX outlets on dedicated circuits.  I don’t remember any ups and downs or how many hours they took to break in but one day I was listening and realized everything had noticeably changed (for the better).  Keep the faith.  You’ll kno...

@zlone you probably are already aware but Schiit has a USB upgrade available for a very reasonable price. I had an older Yiggy a few years back and the SPDIF was better than the old USB at that time. You don’t say what model/edition Schiit you hav...
New streamer
@audphile1 my thoughts exactly. Had I not been trading up to the N20 and getting ready to list my N150, giving me a reason to contact Aurender directly, I too would probably be passing along inaccurate information.  Still another reason manufactur...
New streamer
@signaforce  you're welcome. Hopefully you won't need to use it but nice to know its there if you do. It's ashame people who tout themselves as Authorized Dealers wouldn't know something like this or worse yet use it as a sales tactic. What's the ...
New streamer
FYI to the OP and anyone else considering purchasing a used Aurender.  Not sure what dealer was giving out false information but I just corresponded with Aurender and their 2yr. Warranty is transferable.
New streamer
Aurender has a very good reputation and while you always have to consider service with used gear, I’d consider the source of a comment like that too. Dealers make money selling new equipment, lol. The N150 is a very nice unit (I have one) and will...
