When did it all start? I started loving music since I was 5 first by dismembering an old gromophone for curiosity but was warned by parents not to do the same thing with tube radiola that might kill if I go inside. Played my own records on tube radiola ever since that i...
Sand bags under/over For Isolating ? It works good if your floor mounted on wood joists that make it pretty unstable especially when you play turntable and someone walks by or runs by.I managed to get away with it placing my rack right onto the corner where my system is less affected...
opinions on modern horn speakers Duke,Try to audition Avantgarde Solo active monitors and you'll know that transition issue had been resolved.
How can you tell if a speaker has impedence dips? I will explain that in simple principal of work of dynamic speaker that consists of magnet, voice-coil and diffusor. The voice coil just by itself is an inductor coiled arround the magnet and hooked up to the diffusor.Any deviation of a voltage bet...
CDP w/Tube output stage works as Tube preamp ? I'm not sure if Ah has a volume control, but in every CD-player or DAC tube output is an inverting amplifier i.e. has no gain(i'd say has a negative gain more-likely). It introduces an additional local feedback to help to filter-out the digital no...
Does bridging give you the monoblock sound?? Whether you want it or not in bridged mode you have a case with cancellation of out of phase signals. If amps are dual-monos than more-likely you would want to vertically biamp.
Weird ring/thump noise when I hit my speaker cable one of the tubes might be bad. flip tubes to find out.
Is my hearing bad? Jeff,Investing onto amplification gives much larger and audiable differences than onto the digital source. It realy a question of integration with amplifier where one would do great and another wouldn't even without mentioning price differences.I ...
Is this a deal or what .... I think getting Cambridge D500SE demo $325 from audioadvisor(30 days free trial!) is much better deal nowdays. DACs chips become cheaper and cheaper so as computers do. Newer DACs are easier to filter and they're more precise than previous ones. T...
When did it all start? Do you remember what speaker cable and wires were used?:-)
Any Problem using Plastic Covers for CD ? sometimes in best buy you can acquire megachanger of 400 disks or so or whatever capacity you need for $100 range or even less. good storage and you can use for party as well.
Exposed tonearm cable source of hum?? Is step-up transformer switchable in Rowland? You might have enough gain without it.Well, if not still you can check hum not using a step-up trans. Also you can borrow or buy cheap another phonostage to realy check if hum percists. You may also try t...
Is my hearing bad? To find differences in digital playback is a great challenge since the 99.9% of differences are introduced through proper digital noise filtering in after-DAC proccess especially if different components are using the same DAC chips and all digital...
opinions on modern horn speakers In Beuhorns I don't hear any honking but don't hear any bass and details as well. They're simply bass-free speakers.Avantgarde is an active system with active dynamic(i.e. non-horn) woofer(well except Trio that has bass-horn that needs quite a spa...
VTL, MIT caps and how close is the 450? Multicaps RTX for coupling capacitors are always one of the best options. MB185 to MB450 is only the matter with output power and so is with room you're going to have the system. In vast majority of cases MB185 is plenty-enough for even large size... |
