Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Large flat panel TVs between speakers probably never helps but is not necessarily a major issue either I find, though I think it certainly can be depending on placement relative to tv, rear walls, and any other large obstructions that will tend to...
bipoles/dipoles for music...
Agree with atmasphere. The principle applies to all speaker designs and home sound reproduction in general and is affected by both room acoustics, dispersion patterns and speaker placement relative to walls. Bipoles/dipoles/and omnis just have diff...
Would you trust a local dealer to help you put
Foster,From our interactions in the past, I think you are on the right track. You need someone who knows what they are doing and will listen to understand your goals and most importantly is able to listen in your home with you perhaps in order to ...
Don't read you'll be sorry
Ty Cobb was supposedly not a very nice guy I seem to recall."Cobb's legacy as an athlete has sometimes been overshadowed by his surly temperament and aggressive playing style,[17] which was described by the Detroit Free Press as "daring to the poi...
Is good customer service about dead?
I had a very good experience with Bel Canto earlier this year where they made a repair to an amp i acquired second hand in a timely and cost effective maner and with good clear ommunications. I was very satisfied.

Would you trust a local dealer to help you put
A good dealer will attempt to determine what you are looking for (not what they like best) and also take your room and any other external constraints into consideration. But in the end they cannot hear what you hear so there needs to be room for t...

I would not personally, but its always better to consult with someone knowledgeable and trustworthy when one is not sure what to do alone.I know a local dealer that I would trust for the most part if needed. There are others I would not. It all de...
Why does your turntable sound the way it does.
Audiofiles sure love to ask questions that have no simple answer. I guess that helps perpetuate the breed.Turntables have been around a long time. There are no unexplored great mysteries here. Do some homework and experiment until done right. Or h...
Who uses high end TT setup for vintage records ?
Hmm, I've always considered a good turntable setup to be agnostic in regards to source material vintage.Whatever. My setup does great with all for modest cost. See my system page if interested. Now off course most newer records do not sound like ol...

Hey,I had similar issues with older Magnepan's from the 80's that were my mains for many years alongside a pair of older OHMS.The newer OHMs I have now replaced both. The older OHMs did not have as refined a presentation as most more modern speaker...
