Is It Ironic?
Turntables are one thing that one will likely pay a premium for these days if bought new compared to vintage models. That's of course because records used to be everywhere and there was lots of decent quality gear to play them on. I suspct the bes...
Is DEQX a game changer?
Have not heard and do not know how well executed (always the key), but I agree that the theory seems sound and the approach practical, so definitely something that would be worth hearing for me and I would go in optimistic about hearing some good ...
Who uses home brew cables?
It's true that wires are the easiest thing for one to make themselves. Almost anyone can do it, and if it works even half decently might even be profitable to sell. All that it requires to work is a circuit. And its probably reasonable to expect t...
How loud is loud?
Digital audio provides a very good platform for dealing with things like Fletcher-Munson, when needed. Much better than old fashioned analog loudness buttons. There is an unlimited # of ways audio CAN be processed digitally, many for good reason. D...
Is It Ironic?
Nice analogy Viridian!Chances are the OLDER photograph would be less resolved and the harder of the two to discern information from accordingly and would up the ante in terms of what is needed to get good results.
Absorption panels on ceiling..what to expect?
If at primary reflection points on the ceiling, I would expect the soundstage to be more biased towards the other directions than currently due to less reflected sound from above. Panels generally absorb higher frequencies better as well, so I wou...
Is It Ironic?
Yes, technology continues to evolve and improve. Meaning better performing choices are available today for those in needed who choose to seek them out.Does not mean older gear is "obsolete" though if that is what floats ones boat. Also better perf...
What most important in the sound of your cables?
Got to be able to understand what is being sung even when vocals are not prominent or buried in the mix. That's a good sign for the midrange, where most music occurs, and perhaps the single best indicator overall. Usually a good omen for all the r...
Your most disappointing purchase or audition?
"Man has this thread taken a wrong turn!!"Threads that inquire about bad experiences kinda start down that path from the beginning unfortunately. When something bad is reported, its hard to just let it slide, and hard to get the most relevant facts...

Tbg did you pay full retail?
Is high-end audio dying, if not dead already???
"High end audio is better than ever its kicking ass!!"As evidenced by the abundance of wires costing 4 digits or more these days. Not to mention "fancy fuses".
How do Ohm Walsh speakers compare to Maggies?
Hardwood floors and floors in particular can interact quite a bit with the bottom ported OHM Walsh speakers for sure, more so than other designs. At least that is what I find with my models that use older refurbished cabinets with no plinth undern...
How loud is loud?
Being a live concertgoer, I like to be able to enjoy fully at lifelike volume levels. How loud that is may vary, but do not want to be limited. Most of the time though, I will not go that loud though. Sometimes, background music levels suffice.
Is high-end audio dying, if not dead already???
As long as people have good sounding stuff to listen to music with in their homes, it won't be dead. Maybe just much different looking than the olden days.

Are voices clearly discernable with these, even when buried in the mix? That is usually the first thing i listen for with various ics. Dnms are champs at this.
