Clio,Do you have both the Jazz Modules and QUADS now? What is your assessment of each?
Importance of Amplifier versus Preamp?
SAE's used to be the dealer's amp of preference for OHM speakers. You can buy vintage OHMs used for not much, buy upgrades for any model still from OHM, or buy new refurbs or totally new speakers from OHM as well.Just one option. Many others as wel...

Marq,Your logic is impeccable!Remember though that logic is fairly useless without the facts. Once you have the facts, a little logic can go a long way.

Where should I spend my $2000?
I'd try out some other more tube amp friendly speakers first and compare in-house to what you have. Selling what you have + $2000 opens up a lot of possibilities, especially if acquired used. Some suggestions I can offer would be Triangle, Ref3A, T...

DD, who has more HF products invested in their system, you or TBG?From what I read here, that alone will be the determining factor on which sounds best. :^)

My local dealer sells Maggies. He has let me borrow other gear to try at home, but I have never pursued buying Maggies from him. Its one of the value added services a local dealer might offer a prospective customer. Its a dealer discretion kind of...

"Mapman, nobody is saying dynamic range is the only audio parameter worth mentionng, but if it ain't dynamic I ain't interested."To each their own. Many probably feel that way. The problem is that a single dynamic range metric per track or album r...
