KEF LS50 Wireless -- wow!!!
I have ls50s and think they are very good, as good as most anything, with proper amplification and within their limits regarding bass extension and ability to go loud. Best suited to smaller rooms which is where I use them (12X12) with a sub to he...
Have you ever got emotionally attached
Yes.  I have several things I gave away to family and friends rather than part with.   Some came back again even years later after they wore out.   My old pair of Ohm L speakers were one.    Redid them myself and still getting use from me these da...
Subwoofer. Great one song. Not so great the next song.
Well you can certainly try it both ways with and without port and listen to determine which is better.  I recently removed the port plugs on my kef ls50s for the first time to see how that worked.  I felt soundstage  and imaging was a bit off with...

Eric that is true and always an option but an external crossover would be needed to limit the low end on the mains with most subs. Not sure about this one in particular. That adds cost and complexity as well. Maybe worth it to offload more to sub ...

I have a similar setup. You have to get the sub blended properly with the mains and all those adjustments are your tools. First level but then also rolloff frequency and then phase. The trick with one sub is get that all right at your listening po...
What are you streaming tonight?
"Seven Stones" - Genesis off my in-house music server.
What is the better sounding turntable: Project 1XCarbon or the Rega P3 ??
I would choose based on on which one will Provide greater isolation from external vibration and track the record better. Tracking depends on Cart/tone arm combo as does the sound. Which one is that?
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Nobody can show any particular geometry is any better overall than another.   It's all hearsay.   So the answer is people may think certain ones are worth it but there is nothing to back it up so spending a fortune on wires is a pot shot at best.
speakers for a large room
Take a look at Ohm Walsh for the large sweet area. www.ohmspeaker.com
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Ironically, I use DNM Reson ICs almost exclusively.   The geometry of these are quite unique however also quite minimalist.  Not cheap for a very minimalist product, but I do find the sound to be uniquely coherent compared to others.   I suspect t...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Speedbump,Yes I may be madman today, but when I checked just now agon currently shows 1064 cable listings more than any other category of "hardware".
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Yes I do the same. Buy used mostly. The costs of the wires I’ve settled on for years now run from ~$60-$400 all used. I payed most for a longer run of speaker wires. To each their own. If the wires are worth it to you that’s all that matters. I ju...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
My point is exactly that.  Value is unknown but prices are very high and everyone and their brother is selling.
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Regarding noise when an issue with wires, I am a big fan of shielded wires for that and they need not be outrageously expensive.
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
The problem there is if they are worth it then people would not be selling. But they are so apparently not.I imagine some take a beating Buying new then selling for a fraction of what is paid. That’s called not worth it in my book.More likely many...
