Why the truth is not in them ??
Trust is a universal concept. No one ideology owns it. Or species for that matter. Trust is largely determined by perspective. Different perspectives is not the Same as nihilism. It just means people see things differently from their particular un...
Why are there so many wooden speakers?
Do your homework Kenjit. You will figure it out.  Everyone else has.
What/who do you listen to that you feel is a bit of an unknown?
You do not hear much about Chuck these days.
What/who do you listen to that you feel is a bit of an unknown?

Inner tracks vs outer tracks
Good point!Of course low frequency noise and distortion with outer grooves also tends to be typically most noticeable from record warp and other common defects in record structure and that is where a better tracking rig will clearly shine the most...
Inner tracks vs outer tracks
The curvature of the record is greatest with the inner grooves which would effect tracking and low frequency modulation the most ie its a form of distortion. Records are 100 year old technology. Good stuff and a beloved format by many including me...

Is being an audiophile a disease?
Well as best I can tell it’s not normal.  But normal is boring. So is average.

Speaker shootout update; aggressive treble eliminating some (fairly?)
I’ve heard KEF R3s and those are very solid contenders in the small but extended monitor camp for me.I do currently run KEF ls50s in one room (with sub). Lots of leading edge attack and dynamics especially for the size....not the easiest on the ea...
Explain what is a clean power amplifier?
With regards to power line noise, on a separate front from distortion, that is not the amp but the electricity that runs it, and a truly clean amp probably has a good quality power supply that does what is needed to feed the amp clean power it nee...
Average age of audiophiles
18 years older than when this thread started. 🤔
Explain what is a clean power amplifier?
Clean is a subjective term. What is a “clean” house?   No house is perfectly clean.  It’s just a matter of how much dirt one tolerates.  With amps it’s distortion, not dirt.   All amps have some.   Can you hear it?   If not it sounds clean.   Also...
Speaker shootout update; aggressive treble eliminating some (fairly?)
Thanks to progress with digital technology, DSP is not a bad word these days (except to some old-fashioned purist audiophiles). Lots to gain and little to lose if done right. Especially in acoustically challenged rooms. Should make getting to the ...
can i recreate the sound of vinyl by encoding the vinyl frequencies onto digital audio?
BTW I will go out on a limb and say most all new vinyl these days is digitally remastered. If the recording was done in the 70s or older it was with few exceptions originally an analog master. Records stopped making sense as a recording delivery m...
