About the importance of the room vs the electronics You don’t say? Who’d a thunk it!
What do you have on order RIGHT NOW. A 21st century schizoid man face mask that was shipped from China to the wrong state.
Brainstorm Thursday. Are we approaching the Audiophile Singularity? Yup soon it will be like HD TVs. Except some will find all the detail and contrast irritating. Then digital signal processing options will take care of that as well. A little blur here, some softness there, some extra nice harmonics or contrast/dy...
Ready, set, comment! Speaker cables don’t make a difference? Everything makes a difference. It’s just a matter of how much and if it matters or not. Some things matter way way less than others. Speaker wires fall into that category IMHO compared to all the other usual suspects for delivering good sound.That...
Brainstorm Thursday. Are we approaching the Audiophile Singularity? Yes we are in the sense that vanilla is the most popular flavor, but that doesn't mean there is no room for others. Variety is the spice of life. I prefer to leave it to the recording and room to provide my listening variety, not so much the g...
Interesting Video from Upscale Audio Legally deaf, yet he can hear differences between cables and things- apparently better than a number of audiophiles. Another strike against poor defenseless "audiophiles". One more and they’re out!!! Who will take their place? Cockroaches perhaps?...

Is the appeal to euphonic distortion learned? There is recorded music that is pleasing to the ear and then there is live music. I only want the harmonics that actually occurred when the people played. Good or bad. No artificial sweeteners please! Probably the main reason I have dabbled with t...
Jazz listening: Is it about the music? Or is it about the sound? Does anybody really listen to pure jazz with bad sound quality?Thing is these days the most interesting music to me is that which cross or defy traditional genres, including traditional "Jazz", which alone is very wide and varied in styles to the ...
How loud are you typically listening? I very seldom will ever peak over 90. It's bad for your hearing.
Is the appeal to euphonic distortion learned? There is never any accounting for personal preferences. Anything is possible.
Music Servers, Do They Matter? No it makes no sense whatsoever to evaluate a music server like one would a cartridge or turntable. It's totally different.
Gershman Studio 2 I heard the monitors once and recall them being awesome.
I Have Airborne Feedback And Never Realized It...Till Now I have speakers in unfinished area with bare concrete floor. That has issues. But where my good gear is in finished area with thin dense carpet and padding that works best. Upstairs on suspended plywood floor different issues. These are the facts.... |
