Using 2 different brands of interconnects? Try any combo you want and go with whatever sounds best. Cost is not the determining factor for what will sound best in each case.
Why don't more recordings have soundstage outside of speakers As I listen my soundstage is 22’ wide. Speakers are 6’ apart. 50% of that 22’ wide soundstage is to the left of my left speaker. It sounds lovely. My own little Village Vanguard. I am grateful.
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? Well let’s just say one would hope a 20 watt amplifier that costs $3500 would deliver some goods within its limits in order to compete at that price. High efficiency speakers only would be a pretty limiting consideration. The built in crossover fo...
Mega dollar systems. 200k on up. What are their professions? What’s everyone fussing about now?
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? Built in crossover in a low power integrated amp tube or otherwise is a very useful feature. I wonder what other similar amps have that?
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? I’ve seen and heard some model Raven amps at shows but in lieu of having really heard one enough to assess, having the built in crossover feature for offloading work to a separate powered sub alone is a very practical feature for a tube integrated...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? If the amp offloads the heavy lowest octaves bass work to the sub as it sounds like it is designed to do you should be in good shape. Offloading bass to a sub opens up many new possibilities with lower power tube amps for reasons discussed above. ...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? No lack of current from tube amps to drive more difficult loads well is fact not narrative. How it sounds in terms of bloom and other subjective terms IS pure narrative. It may sound nice but could sound better with better dynamics and less distor...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? Several different 50-60 watt tube amps run with different speakers produced bass at least as good as 150-200 watt solid state amps. Sorry but BS alert. A watt is a watt unless the specs are juiced differently. Soft clipping makes X # watts seem to...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? @b_limo have you ever looked at the Rogue Cronus Magnum? It’s a fine sounding and affordable tube integrated with enough oomph to drive most speakers to reasonable levels. Highly recommended.
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? A tube amp will soft clip so as long as you don’t need things too loud it should be fine.
Cut lower frequency to help my bookshelf speakers AND all the slam you ever could want. MC, maybe but if so why did you feel compelled to add subwoofers in your case with Moabs? Apparently you wanted more bass. So this statement would appear to be a contradiction.
Cut lower frequency to help my bookshelf speakers You can get a MiniDSP for $250.00 that will give you an excellent 2 way crossover along with full EQ cababilities. Can you provide a link to the exact model please? Thanks.
Cut lower frequency to help my bookshelf speakers No. Lower frequencies require exponentially more power. Its where most of the work is done, especially if we are talking full range down to 20hz. Smaller drivers will have to work much harder to produce those lows than larger all else remaining th...
Is D for Dry? Class D... I’d have to hear @b_limo ’s Fritz monitors on good Class D versus others to know which I would prefer with those specifically in that they are advertised to be a most easy load to drive (though not at all particularly efficient) and in my only lis... |
