Review: Ohm Acoustics Walsh 5 Series 3 Speaker
Unsound, Just to be clear, I am not in the audio or consumer electronics business or affiliated with Ohm or any other vendor in any way. I am not looking to profit from anything. I did sell the Ohm line along with others many years ago when I did ...
Review: Ohm Acoustics Walsh 5 Series 3 Speaker
RLWainwright, I've heard the Gallo's + like them very much as well especially for the price. Your fried Walsh 2 cabinets are worth up to the original price in trade in value to someone looking to buy a pair of Ohms from the vendor. Or someone coul...
Audiophile Origins?
Hmmm, I guess I should search before I leap.
Good, Affordable Horns?
Jax2,HAving lived with Carver tube simulation technology for many years alongside the solid state, I'd say that it effectively "takes the edge off" the sound, or smooths it out dynamically perhaps as tubes might. It would probably help with horns,...
Good, Affordable Horns?
Seriously, the appeal of a horn loaded speaker to me are those things that make them distinct and unique, ie the design and nature of the midrange. I don't necessarily need a pair of horns that best my Ohms or other speakers, as long as they do no...
Good, Affordable Horns?
The Ohms are a great value. They do tend to take somewhat of a bashing on this site though. Many purists who know the history of this line can't get over the fact the current CLS drivers used aren't as sexy as the older, problematic Walsh drivers ...
Good, Affordable Horns?
Thanks for the feedback so far.Touche' on the bored comment. Sometimes I like to look at new options just because I can.....I guess I'm just always looking to try (or hear) something different. I still don't know if there is a single speaker that ...
Is it Safe/ok to Plug Amplifier into Processor
In general, I would say it is not a good idea to plug a power amp into a pre-amp or processor as a power source. Better to plug everything separately into a device designed to provide good clean power to other devices, in particular to a power amp...
Triangle Speaker owners
I'm now running my Titus 202s with a Musical Fidelity A3CR. Very nice. I also use them with a vintage NAD 7020 receiver for 2 channel A/V. I like this combo for video but not so much for audio. The old NAD has a lot of bang for its size but does n...
What is the ideal weight/mass for a turntable?
My observation having seen and heard many tables over the years is that heavier tables are better in general. But there is no single ideals weight/mass for a table....its a moot question. Also, I would not advise going after the biggest and heavie...
Internet radio stations that sound really good
There are many in various genres that sound very good even on a very good audio system, with a wireless Roku Soundbridge hookup. It offers an almost never-ending combination of variety and sound quality...and still growing. The Radio Roku web site ...
Replacing speaker grill cloth questions????
First, do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around.....I don't know. Just do it so it looks neat in the end.Use loosely woven material for sonic transparency that can stretch easily as needed.
Recommend a forward speaker
I've heard Focal Profile series speakers driven by a Krell integrated at a local Tweeter store. These sounded very forward and I did like the sound very much.
Recommend a forward speaker
For flexibility, Ohm Walsh 5 speakers have a three way close/medium/far "perspective" adjustment on them for the midrange that enables you to adjust the perspective accordingly. I prefer a more recessed sound stage with the speakers optimally 3-4 ...
Anybody hear Murano ICE amps?
Kijanki,Can you describe some of the differences you may have heard? Are they subtle or clearly distinct? Do they share anything in common?I'm very interested in understanding the major differences in sound out there today with this design. Have y...
