Best internet radio
I have a small Sangean WR-1 mono am/fm table radio that has very good sound. I think they have a WiFi Internet radio version as well.I also have a Roku Soundbridge that I use as a digital wifi source for internet radio and in-house music server on...
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound SACD
I'm waiting for the boxed set also.I have an original CD mastering of SEBTP. It leaves much to be desired. Original Famous Charisma Label vinyl is better.I have the most recent but aging remaster of "Foxtrot" on CD. This mastering is not bad at al...
Best DAC under $ 2,500 on used market
I think you have many choices in that price range. If it were me, I think a newer model Bel Canto DAC would be high on my list.IF your system uses SS amplification, I would also consider a tubed DAC. You could start with an mhdt Havana (<$1000) ...

The latest from my dealer is that it looks like I would need to add an outboard device to the sp-16 for the Denon DL103R.He has access to a second hand Electrocompaniet step-up device of some sort for not too much that he thinks could work well. I...

Cable threads are a hopeless proposition I suppose. It's not hard to disprove an assertion though that all cables sound the same with some simple a/b tests on a decent system.Beyond that, good luck!

Darkmoebius,How are you doing my friend?I'm still working on this pre-amp deal. Thanks for feeding me tips!Do these stepup transformers affect the resulting sound quality typically in your experience, or are the better ones able to just stay out o...

"So would you also say dedicated circuits, electrical receptacles, power conditioners, and isolation transformers are merely tone controls? "No.They are a different kind of "tweak" that addresses a completely different aspect of the resulting sound.

http://www.upscaleaudio.com/product.asp?itemid=441Anyone have experience using the above referenced Musical Fidelity phono pre with a DL103R or something similar?I like my Musical Fidelity A3CR amp very much and think I could probably live with a ...

Sorry, its a Carver c-6, not c-9.I've had the beast for so long (almost 20 years) that I always seem to get the model # wrong.

Output is ~ .25 mV.Unconfirmed things I've read in other threads n this site indicate a gain of 58db or greater is needed. My current Carver c-9 pre-amp has an input sensitivity of ~ .7 mV I believe and does very well with the Denon DL103R. It achi...

Wiring is a tweak like tone controls and power cords. To my ears, they can and often do change the sound, but in of themselves won't make a bad system sound good and most decent wires probably will not make a good system sound really bad either.Li...

Under $1000 unless a good reason to go a bit more.

There's no doubt in my mind that no two IC designs sound the same.Which are better than others though and which are worth the money? That's the tricky (and potentially expensive) part.
Challenging Speaker Situation
What you probably don't want is anything that needs to be away from the wall to sound good because the speaks would then be in the way. This could be a problem with true omnis in this application in that they typically require some distance from w...
