CD recorder?
The Denon in my system makes perfect recordings every time and retails for about $600. The player sounds very good also. Highly recommended. It replaced a $900 California Audio Labs Icon mkII player which was highly regarded by many in its day. I t...
Internet radio stations that sound really good
Radio Classique TubesIs this a station utilizing tubes in the playback system? SOunds like it. Very good sound. Classical from France.
Musical Int. Amp that has exstended natural treble
I've heard wonderful things about Blue Circle and am very interested in the line.Expensive stuff though. I'd listen first before buying anything.
Krell KAV400 VS Musical Fidelity A300 A 3.2 A3.5
Dkzzzz,Surprises me from your description of what you are looking for that you did not care for the Krell at all. Maybe just lack of synergy...ie not a good fit with the rest of your system? No blown tweeters or anything like that right? This is a ...
What one product has redefined music for you??
Klipschorns, Maggies, Ohms, and Apogees are the speakers I've heard or owned that provided a redefining experience.I owned a Tandberg tr2080 receiver for over 25 years that was my first taste of exquisite component design and what really good ampl...

Babies and Speakers
I had a lot of soft new age music playing when my son was born (Enya, etc.). So far, he is a very peace loving and inquisitive soul.Music is good for kids as long as its not jarring or upsetting. I think it has been scientifically supported that m...
Just the musings of an audiophile
I may not be a true audiophile. I really don't give a rat's --- what kind of equipment is playing, as long as the music sounds good. When it does sound good though, I always want to know what its playing on and exactly why it sounds so good, if po...
Hybrid - Tube / SS amp capable of sub 1 Ohm loads?
If you find a tube amp that can in fact do it and do it well, let me know. If it works with your Apogees, it would probably also work with the big Ohms in my system.I'd look into the class D suggestion further as an alternative.

Low levels on any system will work.Low levels on mmgs might be the best sounding and very cost effective.Give them a listen sometime if you think you will not be satisfied with what you have at low volumes, otherwise you'll be fine. For what it's w...
Best Integrated, period.
Guidocorona,Yes, I know.In line with the topic of this thread, I believe the Rowland 500w/ch Class D integrated with phono would be the best sounding with the Ohm 5s. I also really like that VAC Phi Beta though! The thing is I'm pretty happy with w...
Babies and Speakers
Jaybo, we do think alike (I think).I was going to recommend the MAggie mmg as well.Inexpensive and best sound at low to moderate volumes with least amount of baby (and wife) disturbing potential. Its a no-brainer.

Try a visit to "Sound By Singer" in lower Manhattan and plan to spend some time listening to stuff you like on various setups. If you can't find something suitable there, it's possible that what you're looking for doesn't exist.
Best Integrated, period.
I get by very well, especially in the small 12X12 room the big Ohms are currently in, with the ~ 120w/ch Musical Fidelity A3CR that also doubles into 4 ohm.In my larger room that I also like to use them in, (~30X20, L shaped, the A3CR still goes p...
Best Integrated, period.
"the Ohms may well DEMAND it"Yes, this is for certain. They would love the 500w/ch doubling into 4 ohms, high current, and damping. There is little doubt in my mind. They are very forgiving however once you meet this demand. They impart their high...
