'Thirteen pages of very, very little value. "Well, for me, there is only so much can conclude about how something sounds by discussing it, even if in great technical detail. You have to hear it. Unfortunately, a web site cannot provide any indicati...
Musical Speakers - If you like that sort of thing.
Grannyring,I share your wants but am not very forgiving in regards to loose bass, etc.Few speakers I can afford other than the OHM omni's I have run for years satisfy these wants for me yet most consider them to be very neutral.

"Unfortunately Macro views dissension as being hostile and reacts in that manner... "Ah, yes, that would be considered quite "Borg like"!Lets be glad that Macro does not appear to have the capability to assimilate us against our will!No horns for ...

The owners of those systems must not be audiophiles.$150,000 would barely cover the cost of some really good interconnects, right?
Musical Speakers - If you like that sort of thing.
Not everyone has the same goals in any hobby including music and audio. Neutrality and accuracy may be consider good things in general but not everybody values these most. So what? That's fine in my eyes. Variety is what makes the world go round. ...

Gotta give macro a lot of credit for starting a very active thread though. Lots of posts over the last month or so but surprisingly mostly from just a handful of willing participants. Also, I'd like to see more info from other horn product gurus, ...

"What has been interesting about this is that I have found recordings that I **thought** were bad, but in time were found to have so much energy that a bad system couldn't play it right! "I have found this out in recent years as well and suspect t...
My ears of tin are over 50
Rgs92,Curious what is your main system and speakers for audio?Original Walsh 2s cannot compare to many newer designs in regards to overall refinement but the newer upgrades available for them can. I have heard the two side by side in my system for...
What is wrong with negative feedback?
"Now of course you can imagine that one might do that with a more efficient speaker because it is possible, but really the limiting factor with the less efficient speakers was that the loudness cues made it uncomfortable to turn it up the volume a...

"The Better any system get's to the truth, is the less you will experience these so called un-listenable tracks... "I agree. I suspect this may be the most useful metric regarding system quality of all.
best recordings for a sense of scale
Wes Montgomery TrioThis came on my system last night and exhibited exceptional jazz club ambience. The dynamics and sense of space with the organ and percussion parts in particular were breathtaking.
