Sota Sapphire 33.3 rpm is about 1.8 seconds per revolution. How do you come up with 3.6 seconds for the bars to stablilize equaling being up to speed in one rotation. I havent bothered to actually try the strobe thing, but it takes me more than one revolution t...
Sota Sapphire there isnt a Sota around that gets up to speed in one revoltion, nor do any other belt drives that have a 12lb+ platter. If you want to get up to speed in one revolution, get a little rega with a glass or plastic platter, but I doubt they do either.
Replacing my old soda Sapphire: which clearaudio your Sota is built with a spring isolation suspension system built in. One of the best. So it is not susceptable to external vibrations as would a ridgid mount turntable. If your floor is anything but a concrete slab, you might have issues with vi...
Sota Sapphire yeah, it doesnt get up to speed like a japanese direct drive. between the heavy platter, belt slippage and stretch and low torque motor, it could take that long. Its only about 3 revolutions, so not really a problem.
Oh, the frustrations of the speaker search You might want to try the PSB Synchrony B. It is a step up from the Imagine series. I use the PSB Synchrony One, which has the same tweeter, and dont find any harshness. but I listen strictly to vinyl, and my Manley Steelhead phono preamp is tube ...
Replacing my old soda Sapphire: which clearaudio I have both, Sota Star and Clearaudio Performance. the Performance is a very nice table, dead quiet and speed right on the money. The Satisfy carbon arm is also very good. I dont think you will lose any performance by switching to the Clearaudio, ...
Replacing old Sota Sapphire: Concept or perform.? I have and still have a couple of Sotas and a Clearaudio Performance. The Performance is a very nice table, rock steady speed and very quiet operation. Of course, it isnt suspended, so you have that issue to deal with. But outside of isolation iss...
To those with multiple tables/arms/cartridges I use a Manley Steelhead which has 3 phono inputs and one line input that I run a Simaudio LP5.3 into, all running into a Musical Fidelity M3 Nuvista which also has a phono input to get 5 phono inputs available through my system. My custom Lenco h...

SoundSmith repair time Have you called to find out? Peter usually takes abut 8-12 weeks for a repair, but sometimes, if there is unusual damage and he just doesnt want to give up on a cartridge, he may keep working on it in his spare time, which isnt much. Call and find...

Which part of my turntable system should I upgrade I have an extra Sony PS-x60 that you could have. However, I only ship in the CONUS
TW Raven AC or SME 20.12 Why would you think this is an upgrade? The Oracle is one of the best tables in the world and just sings on Rock or Jazz. I have an Oracle Delphi V SE with turbo supply and SME arm and it is easily as musical as my Sota Cosmos IV, Transrotor Fat B...
Upgrades for Rega P3. Worth it? No it isnt
Which part of my turntable system should I upgrade I agree with Stringreen. there is nothing in your system that can be improved for $400 new retail that meets your parameters for an auto table. And if the Denon runs fast, nothing else will matter until you replace it.I would get a DD turntable fro... |
