Isolation Platform for my Sota Cosmos?
I have used a 2" slab of Starboard, which is an acrylic type of board. I can't say it was an improvement though. the Cosmos IV is pretty good the way it is.
Seeking opinions on Clearaudio vs. SOTA tables
Solid wood might warp, crack or twist, so most tables use veneer. Why pay for what you can't see.
Suggestions Please-Sound coming out of one speaker
from what I understand, you switched the cartride leads from one channel the the next, and sound came out of the previously dead speaker that would suggest to me that the cartridge is dead in one channel, otherwise changing the leads would not hav...
Seeking opinions on Clearaudio vs. SOTA tables
I believe that the farther up the line you get in any manufacturers product line, the closer the turntables sound to other manufacturers, which only makes sense if they are chasing absolute perfection. The lower line products have their issues as ...
Helius tonearm users, what have you upgraded to?
the Helius Omega and Aurora have a larger pillar so the hole in the armboard needs to be larger. As for the geometry, it depends on whether you get a 9 or 10 inch arm. My Omega is 9" and my Aurora is 10" with replaceable headshells. but I havent f...
Build a TT based set up for $5K
Depends on how far it is from the 9 oclock side to the side wall, but probably not, especially if you use a littel toe in. the reflections off the left wall will be delayed and reduced in amplitude, the degree based on how far away the wall is.
Please critique my Delphi set up, bass not right
one other thought. The new Beatles remaster is hardly what I would call a great recording. they mixed the masters down to 44khz CD quality digital before cutting the discs. Might as well record your own cd off an original vinyl record and use that...

assuming you will be sitting on the couch to listen, you should put the speakers on either side of the tv, and out at least a foot from the wall, more if you can. I think PSB makes the best speakers for the price. I am using PSB Synchrony Ones now...
Bah Hum Bug
+2 on the phono cable. Drove me nuts with my Manley Steelhead. Changed tables and arms and cables until It is now silent. does the level of hum change at all if you move the phono cable around. that might help isolate if its due to proximaty to a ...
Cartridge for my system? Your wisdom is needed
The Black is nice for a MM. For MC, try a Dynavector 17d3. they can be found new in your price range.
What tonearm to replace Satisfy on Performance SE?
I have an audiomods IV mounted on my Clearaudio performance se. Very nice combination
Helius tonearm users, what have you upgraded to?
I am using both an omega and an aurora. Both are excellent, as good or better than my sme345 and IV. I would buy the omega ruby if one becomes available at a good price
