Received the table but unfortunately I had thought the Seller was going to do more set up.  I was able to mount the cartridge but I can’t get the tone arm weight right.  I have followed the procedure in the manual several times.  First I adjusted ...
Who is your Favorite Historical Conductor?
I listened to Pristine Audio’s transfer of the wartime Furtwangler Brahms 4 last night.  I think it may be from the same source as Music and Arts, as their is a fair amount of noise, like a generator hum, at the beginning that goes away about two ...
Who is your Favorite Historical Conductor?
@lowrider57 Yes, the subject of Furtwangler’s involvement with the Nazis has been examined thoroughly and could be a thread in itself. Do you remember The Sound Of Music and how the Von Trapp family escapes Austria after the Anschlus? The real s...
Who is your Favorite Historical Conductor?
@lowrider57  I have the Music and Arts Brahms Furtwangler set.  Great stuff.  The Second is the most fascinating, if only because we now know that W.F. was slated for execution by the Gestapo after the performance.  Tipped off, possibly by Albert...
Who is your Favorite Historical Conductor?
I have the Warner box. I am not saying that W.F. didn’t make studio rcordings, he made plenty of them, but most of the available recordings are either concerts or Radio Broadcasts. W.F. studio recordings are generally felt to be inferior as perfor...
NODE as just a streamer / Airplay device
It costs twice the price of the Node but I would shell out for Cambridge Audio CXN 60.  It adds Chromecast, which blows away AirPlay.  It sounds better just a streamer than the Node, and is really great with Internet Radio, and has a good app.  It...
Who is your Favorite Historical Conductor?
@goofyfoot    Most of Furtwangler recordings are live concerts.  He hated the studio and made relatively few recordings there relative to Stokowski and Toscanini, to cite two contemporaries of equal stature.  Van Beinum left few recordings, pro...
Ribbon Cables vs. Standard
I bought Nordost Blue Heaven under the simplistic assumption that there would be less intertwining of cables and therefore less possibility of ground loops or other unwanted phenomenon that I seemed to be getting with other designs.  I think it wo...
NODE as just a streamer / Airplay device
1) Does the Node do AirPlay? 2) Does the Node have a HD to store your 30 albums?   I have an older Node2 and it does neither   I just looked it up and the current Node adds Air Play.  As per the previous post you can probably store 30 albums ...
Upgrade Internal DAC of Node or go with Atoll ST120.
I have a Node2 and also Cambridge Audio CXN 60. I don’t know the Atoll. The CA would fit your budget, offers Chromecast and AirPlay, has been very reliable and sounds audibly superior to the Node. It does a great job with Internet Radio and has a ...
Streamlining streamers
I love Cambridge Audio.  The Chromecast is a great feature to have
How to connect my Cell Phone to my DAC?!?!
@soix actually I mixed up Spotify Connect, which is wireless, with plain vanilla Spotify. However, @soix might be on to something, because Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis, not mp3, for compression. It’s possible the DAC in question may not read Ogg
Shave your CDs
I'm surprised that no one has yet claimed that shaved streamers and lps sound better than shaved cds
Ribbon Cables vs. Standard
Would Nordost Blue Heaven counts as a "ribbon" cable?  I am not sure that I understand the question
svs subwoofer
REL makes very musical subs, and I can personally attest to that.  SVS is supposed to be their main competitor in the "musical sub" category
