Classical Music for Aficionados
I saw Nicola in Chicago a few years ago .  After she played the WarHorse Concerto she encored with a few Scottish ditties, and her personality really came out.  She is a tiny person, btw, barely 5 feet and probably a size 1.5….
Looking for wider soundstage
My two cents—I had your amp, and things definitely improved when I upgraded to the Halo
Streaming vs Physical Media
I prefer CD replay, but by a wide margin
Best streamer for a returning audio guy
I have both the Node2 and Cambridge CXN 60 in different systems.  Either is a great into to streaming that are good enough to be endpoints as well.  The CA has AirPlay and Chromecast and sounds better, as well as great Internet Radio and podcastin...
Is an isolation transformer better than a power conditioner?
I’ve never used a Power Conditioner.  Would any perceived improvement be affected by where one lives?  I currently live in Chicago but am contemplating retirement and moving to a sparsely populated rural area.
Cambridge Audio Cxnv2 Truth Mod /tubes make all the difference
I own the stock CA and am very happy with it, but may I ask how much the mod cost, and then how much extra for the replacement tubes?
Aurender N100 or X100?
Interesting discussion.  I don’t own Aurender so I can’t really opine here.  Unlike @ghdprentice i prefer the sound of my physical files to the Qobuz alternatives.  I use Melco and I need more than 2 TB.  I am wondering if there is a third party a...
Offline Music Storage & Playback Recommendations
Go Wired, since WiFi is such an issue.  Use an App that can be used from a computer as opposed to a mobile device
Is This the Essence of "The Audiophile Dilemma?
At some point I realized that no matter how good my system gets it will never approximate the experience of sitting in a concert hall with a live orchestra.  And in the realm of pop there is rarely a master tape, due to all the processing in const...
2 channel DSP?
I use the Mini DSP SHD mentioned in the OP.  I think it was a good addition, particularly in the bass management
Constructing songs
No Pink Floyd?
SACD repair?
I have bought about 7 SACD players in my life.  I never had a problem with any of them.  I owned one Marantz but traded it in after 2 years.  I had a Marantz streamer that was awful and they failed to support even when it was under warranty.   Th...
Another person going digital and full of questions
The current Node has an upgraded DAC that sounded pretty impressive when I heard it for an extended audition.  Bluesound stuff is far from perfect but it checks some boxes for being a good entry into streaming.  As @djones51 mentioned the UI is cr...
Bluesound Powernode
I only know the Vault And Node.  I did have the Bluesound boom box, forgot what they called that.  It stopped working about 1 day after the  warranty expired when it got hung up in the middle of an update.  So if you ask me, I wouldn’t get the Pow...
Another person going digital and full of questions
Bluesound Node2 is a good starter streamer.  It works with every streaming service out there.  They have just upped their DAC, and you may or may not find it compares with your current DAC.  It will leave most of your budget intact so that you can...
