Handling Heavy Amps
I'm in the same boat with low back issues - but with L4&5 fused, 2 disc spacers etc.  FWIW I recently bought a BAT VK3500 to power my Harbeth 40.3 XD's. I'm really happy with it. It weighs 50lbs. I managed installing it without any difficulty...
Musical Expectation Bias
This is getting into "This is Your Brain on Music" territory. A very well written book, but I lost the enthusiasm (the point) about halfway through. Maybe I'm missing the point, but personally, I'm happy that I have an open mind, and I am not pig...
Are there other people like me ? Amazed by their low cost system :)
mahgister, with all due respect, I truly believe you have created something special, at a fraction of the cost others, including myself have spent, and good on you for achieving audio utopia. (btw I'd love to hear a vintage Sansui amp with some ol...
Anybody using the last record preservative
@ghdprentice even extra virgin?
PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
@normb  have to ask the question NOBODY has thought to mention: why use a slug at all?  Just unsolder and BYPASS the actual fuse slot, socket, clips, clamp or solder  Cause many people don’t want to take the component apart, or know how to sol...
PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
@audioman58  Where are these L I asked yesterday and the response was they are not even out yet.   how dare they…off with their heads
PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
@hilde45 That's why the old SNL skit about floorwax/dessert topping is funny. Yes. SNL back in the good old days.
PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
@hilde45 I think the OP’s post was at worst over-hyped, or at best over-enthusiastic. However some of the responses are no different from the cable naysayers that have never tried the cable they condemn. There is nothing wrong with a healthy dos...
PURON RESOLVE creates new options for better sound
I wonder how many of the naysayers have tried the plug-in Puron? A no-questions-asked return policy is hardly sleezeball, and having dealt with Mark (4 transactions), if he says the return rate is less than 1%, it is.
Zavfino and Neotech OCC Interconnect
One thing I would note about Zavfino is they sell direct at low margins, so without the massive distributor/dealer mark-ups they do represent very good value for the money. Like any brand they get better as you move up the line. Their Fusion int...
Which turntable? Pro-Ject or VPI?
Having stupidly owned a Project RPM 10 Carbon, I can vouch for the shoddy build quality. The tone arm wasn’t much better than the $400 Project Debut TT that proceeded it, including the same anti skating weight dangling from a bit of fishing line.
Raven Osprey 3.1 vs Leben cs600
No experience with the Leben, but having owned the Osprey I can understand your brothers enthusiasm. I regret selling mine.
Aurender Model Choices
Cool. As always, everything is room, system and music preference dependent. In my case I have a large open-plan space to fill (no dedicated listening room) so the bigger RELs worked really well for me with the small Harbeth's.
Aurender Model Choices
...or, try the N150 and add a couple of RELs. In a side by side comparison in my home, my 30.2XDs with 2 REL T/9x's stood up very well against my 40.3's on their own.
Turntable Cartridge upgrade question.
PS. I have a Black Ice DAC which I'm very happy with, no experience with their phono stages but I'd be tempted to try one if I were you, especially with their 45 day return policy and the direct to consumer model usually means more bang for the bu...
