Why can't I hear 20 years of phono 'progress'?? Eldartford,Perhaps your low frequency cone excursion is a result of feedback. The good thing is that we can enjoy it all. Hell, I even like the MP3's on my puter at times.
What tweak, what to do? I'm sorry that my first post was so short but my grandson needed attention. What I was trying to convey is that in all cases you need to penetrate the carpet and padding to have any chance of controling vibrations. I'm familiar with the Naim compo...
What tweak, what to do? Well, you could go to the lumber yard and get a few threaded inserts and install them on the bottom of your coffee table legs, etc. and install some points. That's the biggest bang for the buck.
Why can't I hear 20 years of phono 'progress'?? Eldartford,If you need to pause and clean your stylus half way through a record then you need to alter your vinyl hygene habits. Also, even without a subwoofer the rumble you refer to would be visible as any speaker/amplifier would attempt to recr...
Vinyl pressing mistakes Slipknot1, I'm ROTFLMAO.
CD and DVD are history? Whenever cable providers convert to digital television completely there will be enough bandwidth to handle all this and more. If I still have a cable connection at that time I'm sure I would enjoy the background music sometimes because that is wha...

What do audio shops need to do to survive ? Prpixel's story is specific to him but nevertheless it's very generic to the high end audio scene. This is what has happened to too many brick and mortar shops. The greed and arrogance is there in spades without an appropriate economy to support i...

New Guy asking for help Start with a good bottle of synergy.
Vinyl pressing mistakes In 35 years of serious collecting I've only found one mistake. That was Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" where the two disks were the same pressing with different labels. I exchanged it for a good one. Now, what you have is REALLY a mistake.
The value of external crossovers? Yes, the Aktiv crossovers are speaker specific. The crossovers for the Keilidh's also are the same for Ninkas. By the way, you can do three amps Aktiv. That would be one amp for the highs. The other amps are for the mids/bass. So, not to confuse y...
The value of external crossovers? Hi,I have a Keildih Aktiv system. The benefits of going Aktiv are huge. The presentation seems so effortless and the bass extension to 40 HZ is real. The biggest and most surprising result is how musical my lesser recordings sound. Previously, abo...
pros and cons to running bare wire Philojet,Timo is right in his assessment. Here's a couple hints to keep you from constantly chopping off and reconnecting your new speaker wire. Buy some cheap, thin cotton gloves and wear them while you are cutting and stripping the wire. Use a w... |
