CFB, Although I am a "new" member of this community I will miss your input in the forums a great deal. It was you, Clueless, Albert Porter, Ben Campbell, Garfish, Tireguy and Sean that convinced me through your long standing here that this was a p...
How to convert MP3 to CD on hard drive w/o burning
Get a free download of Winamp. You may convert MP 3's to multiple file types with this powerful little program. Do a google search...winamp file conversion. There are numerous explainations on how to do this. FYI, when converting to wav files the ...
Trouble Auditioning Hi-fi Components?
Man did your post ring a bell with me. I have a Linn dealer in my area that is of absolutely no value whatsoever. His suggestion for my turntable problems was for him to ship it to Florida for me and, I quote,"it'll work great right out of the box...
How much bearing oil?
FYI, a Linn bearing "looks" like a tube. The sub-platter shaft is a very close tolerance fit into the tube. The end of the sub-platter shaft is pointed and contacts with (I assume) another point at the bottom of the bearing. Glad I could be of som...

Reducing background fizz and pops on Vinyl.
Matrix, I've got to chime in on this one. I have been collecting lp's for over 35 years and only recently purchased a Nitty Gritty machine. What I have found is that records that originally came with a paper sleeve almost always have surface noise...
Your 5 Fav Rock Concerts
Leon Russell, Poco, Neil Young, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and I hate to admit it, the single finest performer I have ever seen (gulp) is Garth Brooks. Long live my hero Neil Young!
Who R U?
Ok, I've been a daily Gon addict for about 8 months and wish to extend my grattitude to everyone for sharing the knowledge. I'm 51, married for 28 years, the father of one. My passions are photography (it's how I earn my living), drag racing (wick...

What we have here is DivX or MP 4 technology. It works well but be forwarned....you need to be quite good with computers to use it. DivX is free by the way and can be seen at divx.com. Also, if your home dvd player playes cdv it works.
