Mistake to change from Spectrum (Coaxial) to Fios (Fiber optical)???
Maybe there are settings for your router that Verizon tech support would know. Just a guess.

Most musical and grainless Holland Amperex 6DJ8/ECC88?
If it must be 6DJ8, then Amperex 6DJ8/ECC88 early 60’s white label, non Bugle Boy.Better sonics and low noise is Amperex 6922 PQ gold pins, early 1960’s, Heerlen.

OK, TV sounds bad. Do you stream music through Spectrum or do you have a dedicated streamer?

Great info, thanks.

Tonight I placed shorting plugs into the inputs on my preamp. I have these gold plated plugs that were from years past. I'll need to listen for a few days to note any sonic change.Maybe I'll get the dust caps for the outputs but I don't know if th...

MC, what is a PPT cap? Thanks.

Capped off?
If the caps have a pin then they are shorting-plugs and should only be used on RCA inputs. Not all components can use these. Regular caps can be used anywhere.+1 tube_gb

How do you know if you are upgrading your DAC?
Advances in tech, lower cost to make a good Dac has brought more units and brands to the marketplace. Some of the "hot" Dacs are from US companies who have the Chinese do their manufacturing. I've noticed the well known high-end audio brands are us...

@c_avila1 That's a very nice LPS. There are no wall-warts in my system. I am using an upgraded Swagman Labs LPS  with excellent results. My router and computer are across the room and my curiosity is piqued regarding the use of an LPS on the router...
The cost of LP's and CD's - an observation
@mikelavigne There were no Loudness Wars in the 1980s, compression was low. We were able to hear compression on CDs vs records, but most people jumped on the CD bandwagon. Perfect sound forever. And yes, it was the beginning of recording individual...

@mr_gray,  what LPS are you using with your router? It seems like a nice upgrade to your system.I wonder if it's helping reduce RFI. The coax feed and the router are full of RFI, as is the wall-wart.
