From Canada to USA - buying used stereo from private sale
Correct regarding no charges for used gear. Also correct about country of origin. I purchased Audio Note dac from Canada and paid tariff based on UK rates.
Tidal - 4 on the floor
"It's not an issue." Well, that's really lame. If you ever have a technical problem like I did, the instructions were to log out, then log back in to reconnect.

You're not supposed to lose anything when logging out. As long as your subscription is up to date, all information is still in the app.I had to log out once during some troubleshooting to reconnect to my network.I'm certainly not going to complain...
And a happy Festivus to all!
Uh, could it be "Festivus?"
Best way to handle this ground loop
Although hififan's link describes the different ways a ground fault can occur, he never states that there is a difference in ground potential; a different impedance between the earth grounds.

"I find your belief system fascinating"....Mr.Kruger.

I always look forward to the airing of grievances.
Ceramic fuses
Lol, Ricey. This forum can be a wealth of information, but you'll have to put up with some of the members' idiosyncrasies.
Isolation Feet Upgrade
@vinylvalet The EVP's work well, very transparent.I found out about them on a recent thread and ordered a set for my preamp. Now I'm going to order another set.
Ceramic fuses
I don't know if the use of rhodium/gold in fuses is audible, but it is in cable terminations. I have two identical Furutech PC's, one with gold connectors, the other with rhodium and there is a difference in sonic signature.

The Jensen Iso-Max really does work. I used one a while ago between an amp and preamp. It's better than an isolation transformer which may colour the sound.
Cables 101, new student, first question
I agree you have to look at the system as a whole. But you need to start your upgrade somewhere and if the interconnects can be improved, then adding one pair of better cables will certainly be an improvement.

Excellent advice @soix .You're terrific!!
Do speaker wires matter
+1 three_easy. And IME, there aren’t tons of 95dB+ speakers available. OP... I think you’ll find many more speakers are in the 90dB+ sensitivity range. And 8ohm is preferable for your amp.
Ceramic fuses
Ricey, are these the fuses you are considering...https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/240/Littelfuse_Fuse_285_Datasheet.pdf-1317236.pdf
