Bluesound Node (2021) PS upgrade to Teddy Pardo; is it worth it? I'd like to add my thoughts on the stock power supply of the Node2i. My preamp died so I'm now going direct from Node to amp (using an external Dac). Still enjoying streaming Qobuz but there's a noticeable lack of bass and low-end extension. IME, ...
What is that weird noise in the mix of Sympathy For the Devil? +1 MC !!
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? @mapman ,, I remember you're using the Denon. After I had my Axis fully restored, I was on a vinyl tear. Then I decided to upgrade my digital which was practically entry-level. Eventually I reached the point where it sounded better than my analogu...
What is that weird noise in the mix of Sympathy For the Devil? What noise, what radio station, and where in the song is it?
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? @mapman , glad to hear your Axis is still performing well. Have you ever done any mods or upgrades?
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? There are different generations and levels of the LP12. Ask which power supply it uses. That would also help date this table. What do you mean "would need a new system?" Install a new tonearm?
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? When I frequented my local Linn dealer in the 80's the salesmen would say that for those on a budget, the Axis with the top Linn cart and arm provided a taste of what an LP12 was like. And back in the mid to late 80's, $1000 for an Axis wasn't chu...
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? @andlum Yes, you use a strobe disk to check speed. I'm sure this table has been checked. And many belt drives don't run at 33 1/3. They run at 33.5 or 33.1, you won't hear a difference. I'm sure he checked and/or adjusted tonearm, platter movem...
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? @andlum Off the top of my head compete service should include: -The suspension has been checked and adjusted. Every tech will do this, I'm sure it was. -Motor inspected. Ask if it has the original motor. It's fine if it does. -Change bearing o...
@mention @thyname All the features work except text appears as it would on a desktop PC. I guess it's only compatible with Apple. I'm using Android, not mobile-friendly.
Horn speakers are really bright? @lordrootman Does Klipsch make any modern day speakers similar to the design of the EPIC CF4??
@mention Yes, it's wonderful to have this feature. Also great to have the other features installed. But there's a bug in the comments text. It is not mobile friendly, does not fit on the page and has double-spacing.
if replace stock kt88 to el34 tubes , help Analogue means turntables, tonearms, cartridges. The moderator can move this thread if necessary. @russ69 has provided the proper procedure to bias power tubes. My question is what amp do you have and does it work with both those tube types?
Decision: keep the Project Classic or buy into a Linn Axis? I'm an original Axis owner since 1988. I love the sound of this table, so much so that I had it refurbished by a Linn service tech about 2013, 14. I would be wary of buying an old table without knowing its history. The safe bet is to keep the Proj...
Class A amplifier alternative? Look for a Class A/AB amp. There are quite a few which are very powerful. They run the first 10 or 20 watts in Class A then switch over to Class AB. Off the top of my head are Pass Labs, Plinius, and I think Parasound. |
