is it qood idea to use an Equalizer with amp Mjniz31, you have not stated the reason for adding EQ. Is it to compensate for problem areas in your room or is it to correct for poor recordings or weakness in your system?
Curtains to control high frequency Would not go with heavy curtains... too much damping. I put up some thin material curtains and it helped tame high frequencies. I already had venetian blinds, but needed more than that.
turntable isolation feet I also use Herbie's tall Tenderfeet under my Linn, which is a suspension TT. No more footfall and the sonic benefits are tighter bass and a more open sound.
Taming edge from remastered CDs? Arh, that is what I'm saying. It doesn't apply to all remastered cds. I buy classical and EMI Classics and Chesky do an excellent job of remastering where as some other labels produce these harsh sounding discs. So, I too would like to find a solu...

Top 5 Classical recordings Love Mahler, but I agree that it's not the composer to start with. Eelii08, FYI, Bruckner was Mahler's teacher and mentor. If u like Bruckner, Mahler would be the next direction to go. However, each composer interprets Mahler very differently and...
Top 5 Classical recordings This must be a case of high quality performance outweighing technical limitations. I have many 1960s performances, but have never ventured into the 40s or 50s.
