Greatest Rock Drummers I like that upfront, on-top-of-the-beat drumming. Hate that it's used in a movie soundtrack.
Greatest Rock Drummers What made John Bonham and LZ different from other bands was that they did not use the traditional rhythm section. Bonzo played with Page, not with JP Jones. Listen to Page’s rhythm and lead, and the drums are playing along with those rhythms. Jone...
Greatest Rock Drummers I’m sorry shadorne, but that just doesn’t work. Timing is EVERYTHING!https://youtu.be/0Nt8dJ6rMZI
Philips Vinyl: Dutch vs Italian Pressing Yes, I always look for pressings from Germany or Holland.
Philips Vinyl: Dutch vs Italian Pressing Since Philips was a Dutch company known for high quality pressings, it makes sense, if given the choice to go with Philips Holland.I don't own this particular release, but the original master would have been produced by Philips Holland.
Greatest Rock Drummers There are different types of drummers who can be called the best. There are the technically skilled like Peart, who never really get into a groove, and then there are the rhythmic drummers who have "feel." Just listen to Clyde Stubblefield, now th...
What's the weak link in my system? Since you enjoy spinning vinyl and have a good collection, upgrade your TT and cart. You can do much better than the entry-level Project, for starters, it doesn’t seem to have much vibration control. You need a solid platform or base (plinth) to i...
Furukawa power cables That's true, Geoff. Japan now uses China for production just like the US.To add to the confusion...http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26761https://www.audioasylum.com/messages/cables/159632/furukawa-pcocc-power-cord
Furukawa power cables It does look like a legitimate company, but it is odd that all products ship from China. I have bought Japanese products, such as Oyaide, and they all ship from Japan and are expensive.Perhaps China is their worldwide distribution center; perhaps ...
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC Oh, now I get it. Thanks very much.
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC @rodge827 , So you're saying that you use the 9V iPower in combination with the LPS-1 ?
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC Thanks for the info, Chris. I'm sure an external LPS makes all the difference.Dave, I've read user reviews of the Gustard X20 Pro and it seems the way to go is with the modded unit. Ric Schultz is charging about $400, which still makes it very aff...
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC I've been on the prowl for a used Exogal Comet or Holo Spring and I came across the Gustard X20, which can be modded by Ric Schultz.Any info on this DAC?
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC @rodge827 , I'm thinking about trying the iFi SPDIF iPurifier, but noticed that the input for a PSU is USB. How would you connect a LPS to the iPurifier? I'd like to use a toroidal PSU but they use a DC cable with 5.5, 2.1mm head size.
Why does FM radio sound so good? Classical and college radio sounds excellent thru my home system; clean is a good way to describe it. I’m using a vintage Denon tuner. Rock stations sound good as well, except for the loud compressed bass. |
