Suggestions for my system
I agree to add room treatments; absorbion and diffusion. In my 12 x 16 ft. room, a few panels helped shape the soundstage and focus the 3D image.
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
Sorry @nonoise . But not really sorry. Just telling it like it is and hook a brother up.You should research carefully. I got advice from another member and learned about balanced power and that the EquiCore is not a regenerator and does not use fi...
New Qobuz User Comments
I'm very pleased with the SQ and performance of Qobuz. I did trials of Deezer and Tidal and since I listen to classical music, I chose Qobuz which has the deepest catalogue. The hires sounds terrific. Admittedly, it is lacking in the rock genre.Co...
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
Since I live in a city and my system has always suffered from noise from the grid I'm now using a balanced power conditioner (EquiCore). It provides a black background and the level of detail and depth is a major improvement. But adding the MC-05 h...

@nonoise ,  I purchased a second 0.5 last week and messaged Rick about placement. He said one on the amp AC line and one on the source line. Optimal placement would be in the wall receptacles.I asked about placement of additional modules and Rick ...
Can I use 2 two channel amps to run a 3 channel system? leaving one side of an amp unused
What will you do with the unused stereo channel? Yes, a dummy load is the solution, but you'll be missing out on the full audio mix.A possible setup could be:Amp 1... L R Amp 2... sum the 2 channels to the middle speaker.Any thoughts?
Ended my Qobuz subscription
Yes, Qobuz does have playlists that are more specific to your taste in a certain genre. Tidal always adds some unrelated songs into the playlist. That link takes you to a sign in page, but on my Blusound I can see many playlists including Prestige ...

What was your first big eye opener with regard to audio?
I made many discoveries which helped educate me thru auditions at Hifi shops. The major eye-opener in my own system was the purchase of high quality aftermarket power cords. Sometimes adding a PC to a component has been transformational. But in the ...
Ended my Qobuz subscription
I'm staying with Qobuz for now. I listen to 80% classical and find their catalogue to be vast and seems to be growing daily. Tidal is way behind in this area, but I didn't realise they had so much jazz. Tidal beats Qobuz with its rock selection  b...

So that's why the MC-05s in the classifieds disappeared.
Which Preamp Tube is most consequential: Input or Gain
Input gain stage vs. cathode follower.
Which Preamp Tube is most consequential: Input or Gain
@peterf6 , ok thanks for your comments. That’s a different layout than preamps I’ve owned. Typically, tube circuit is L R in front. And of course, Ralph (atmasphere) is correct.
Which Preamp Tube is most consequential: Input or Gain
Place your best tubes on the right hand side forward and rearWhy would you install the new tubes in the right channel gain and cathode follower? The new tubes go in L and R channel, either front or back.Front would be the gain stage, unless Freya h...

@jerrybj I also bought a discounted 0.5 from Audiogon. I think the buzzing from my amp caused the harshness in my system on my earlier audition. So amp is in the shop.Good on ya, @nonoise .
