Carver, THE standard of excellence IMO
First of all, many thanks to @fmalitz for joining the conversation. I'm a Carver fan, Phase Linear was before my time. I've owned a couple Carver components and an excellent Sunfire amp.I believe the member who used the term "starting fires" was n...
AC Dedicated Line
he reworked the single panel, keeping the larger draw appliances "away" from the music lines in, on the opposite side of the panel. There are many threads related to this concept, consensus seems to be keeping high-current-draw appliances and SMPS...
Bluesound node 2i question
A 5gHz capable router is a must. I realised this as soon as I hooked up my Node 2i. I bought a new Verizon router on Ebay and now there's no more buffering and no dropouts.Wifi Analyzer app is a handy tool to check signal strength. It also indicat...
Best place to sell an amp.
IME, lots of low ballers and scammers on Craigslist. Had a $400 item, was offered $50. Also listed an expensive item and got a form letter response from a dealer... "we buy anything."US Audiomart is free and I have very good interactions with memb...
Best place to sell an amp.
I’ve had good experiences on US Audio Mart. Highly recommended. And give Audiogon another try. Don’t get involved with any buyers trying to lowball you.
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
@nonoise Great to hear you gave the 0.5 another chance and that it's starting to perform.Do you use more than one Gutwire and have you ever tried one of the grounding blocks on the market?
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
@keithtexas I really believe the 0.5 will have more impact on the source receptacle. Use an adapter if you don’t have room, that’s what I’m doing.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H47R36P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_8z3sDbHQTM3SSI have one on amp side, 2 on s...
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
@keithtexas How are your sources being powered? As stated, sources are the primary position for the MC.I’ve found the top-end and mids will change many times during breakin. Each new module added to my system sounded overly detailed and I could he...
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
@keithtexas  There is a breakin period of up to 400 hours according to manufacturer, although I'd say it's about 200 hours. There should be a noticeable effect immediately and over time highs should become smoother and soundstage will open up in a...
Saw Brian Ferry Last Night!
I saw Roxy Music's final performance of their final tour in 1983 at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. They wouldn't tour again until their reunion in 2001.That show was one of the greatest experiences in my long history of seeing live music.
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
@jerrybj I hope you bought the discounted 0.5 since you may want to add a second module.
High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5 Effect
I've added my 3rd module and this is where experimentation needs to happen. I placed it in my power conditioner and let it run-in for a few days. Soundstage opened up, more inner detail, but did not increase the holography or the sense of realism....
Best Day & Time To Post Ads
Not sure, but be advised that during the summer there isn't  much activity in the classifieds.
AC Dedicated Line
You should consult or hire an electrician. If you run 3 lines of Romex 12/2, you will connect at the service panel to 3 separate circuit breakers (typically 20 amp). Each line should have it’s own neutral and ground from wall receptacle to circuit...
Decca Classical Reissues Mastered at Abbey Road? Copies of digital files? Or REAL Reissue?
That’s the way to do it for sure. More artists have realised that the reissue will be much more faithful to the original release. But many of these remasters from original analogue tape are being digitized to a hard drive and then remixed. It’s eas...
