Equi=Core Hum & Other Issues @testpilot , true, but not anymore. Core Power Technologies is out of business and has been purchased by Underwood. All new sales and R&D are done at a new facility.
Equi=Core Hum & Other Issues I should mention that this unit is one year old and was purchased used. It was manufactured by Core Power Technologies.I'm thinking that I should start with a call to my electrician before sending the unit for service. I wonder if a DC blocker can...
Selling on Audiogon It has become expensive to sell here. And why is the fee based on the original Asking Price? If I accept a lower offer from a buyer I still pay Audiogon the higher fee.2% is fair, but only if it's based on the actual selling price.
Screw on banana/spade connectors Canare 4S11 Star quad is a good choice. I replaced my Purist Aqueous Luminist with Canare and I'm hearing a more neutral, tonally correct presentation of music. I have locking bananas, dont know if they're screw-on or soldered.
Equi=Core Hum & Other Issues Thanks @lak for that valuable information.@almarg , I've been reading that thread. The Klein device does register 120VAC, but the Overload LED is lit. The polarity LED's indicate normal AC, maybe the overload is due to high DC. Overload is >25v...

What's up With VTS? I'm pretty sure he doesn't have call waiting. I've made calls where the phone rings & rings, and when I call back later he'll answer.I know, not a great service for the customers, but he's worth the wait.
What's up With VTS? I spoke to him 2 weeks ago and ordered some tubes. There was a period of several weeks with no answer or voicemail. He said he’s extremely busy and my tubes wouldn’t ship for 3 to 4 weeks; it’s usually about 7-10 days.I know he goes on buying trip...
With what you know now what components doe you wish you had bought years ago? In the 1980s I wish I bought a SAE stack that I was eyeing. Could have driven my AR speakers. In the 2000s when I was making good money, I wish I went straight to an Atma-sphere S-30 or M-60s instead of trying various SS and tubes. I finally purcha...
Anyone have this kind of problem with their amp? +1 @stereo5 , cold solder joint.
Audiophile Bass? It’s been mentioned many times here that using a rubber device as a speaker footer will not drain the vibration and resonances. It will absorb them resulting in lack of clarity (muddy, unfocused bass).I’ll agree that a home audio system does not r...
How to guarantee to lower noise- ground loops in your system If all circuits are to Code, AND there is a proper low resistance earth ground, you won’t have any mains circuit ground loops. If "proper low resistance earth ground" means the earth ground from the components, then that is correct. If just one comp...
What's the future for vinyl lovers? Yeah, but without the "black goo" nobody would even know who these people were.
How to guarantee to lower noise- ground loops in your system @volumizer, so if using 12/3 instead of 12/2, you would have an extra conductor. This would need to be tied off so it is not connected, correct? I understand the benefit of twisted cables, although I have never heard of anybody doing this. |
