Stereovox LSP-600c and Merlin?
Your gear is great. I'd stick. Your set-up looks weird (and less than optimal). Move stuff around and see, unless you have a need to spend money.
Good speakers at low volume?
Hawthorne Audio Solo
Leon Russell
A sadly underappreciated artist. Goes back a LONG way. Did lots of studio work for others before branching out solo. Yea, he's great.Listen to "Leon and the Shelter People". It's the joint.
Jackson Browne's "Time the Conqueror"
Not sure if Kira and M18764ag know what a "chicken-hawk" is but look at a pic of your idol "W", and you'll see one in the flesh. I remind you, he ducked military service, NOT Kerry. But...the Republicans really know how to twist a story line. I'll...
Single driver speakers - opinions
I (finally) found a variation on the single-driver concept that sounds great to me. Check out the Hawthorne Audio site. Great folks, wonderful product. This uses, as I understand it, a "pro" driver concentric design. A tad "rolled" on top, none of...
Burning CD from I-Tunes
I am burning at the "fastest rate possible" selection. Again, in view of this, is 30 minutes burn-time reasonable for just over 1 hour of music? Thanx.
Which part reduces surface noise most?
For what it is worth, I've owned Rega 3 and 5, Nottingham Spacedec, Linn LP-12 AND KAB-modded Technics. While I love Kevin and the product itself, it is the least kind (of the bunch) when it comes to "snap, crackle and pop". I used Stanton and She...
is the rega brio better than the rega mira 3
I LOVE the Brio. I think it is THE deal in hifi. Yes, in my estimation, it is more musical than the Mira.
Hobbies other than Audiophiliac?
I like looking at big knockers.
Can anyone recommend a Phono Pre Amp?
Get the Project Tube-box. They come up sporadically and have wide flexibility handling both MM and MC. A very nice product and half of what you want to spend!
Those simpler times.....
I'm not much of a back-patter, but boy did you ever nail this thread. Anyone who tells me "Satisfaction" is not a great song because it is played on a Technics instead of a Linn is NOT a music lover. He/she is a lover of the endless hardware swap....
Technics SL-1200 MKII Bearing Problem
Mine did the same. I don't think you have a bearing problem. I believe the tension of the cables is what pulls the arm back. But...I'm NOT positive.
Rega Brio, Apollo, and R3?
I LOVE the Rega idea. The Brio is amazingly good (and has a KILLER MM phono stage ON-BOARD), the R3 is easy to place and swings (only fault is it is a tad "tipped-up" in the trebles)and the Apollo is a good safe choice. All combined, a fine, fine ...
first vinyl purchase for new tt
I think this is a good piece of advice. Buy music by artists you like. The "sound" takes care of itself if the music moves you.
Ringo Starr or Charlie Watts???
Rings is great, Charlie is great. Can't we just end it there? Two of the best, and most important, drummers in rock history.And...both wicked cool.
