What class of amplifier has the most high definition sound ?
If there was a magic bean, don’t you think we would all have one?  Many choices, many tradeoffs and associated gear is among them. The unstated inference is that anyone who agrees with what the magic bean happens to be, is dumb if they can afford i...
Another help me spend money thread or maybe not.... going to AXPONA
Have you considered looking at the 30.7 Maggies?  The 30k price coukd be offset by selling your 20.7s.I know you were going in a different direction, but I has to put the idea in front of you.
What is your experience with the law of diminishing returns ?
I think that Elizabeth has it right in terms of marginal cost / marginal gain curve.   One might quibble about price point (not a lot). Then the owner’s financial condition as well as sensitivity to the curve must be factored in.For myself, I lust ...
Tekton Design's new THE PERFECT SET equals "goosebumps time"
For some unknown reason I have read this entire thread.  I like to call my perspective as a view from the middle. There are a couple of issues that jump out to me immediately.  The manufacturer chooses to sell direct and has no distribution network...

I’m gob smacked. What were you’re aha moments?
The first time I heard Maggies was a moment for me.  The end of box speakers in my home.Interestingly, my wife was good with getting 20.7s, but room size ruled the day.  It was 14 years ago and we have not looked back.
Looking for the best Preamp with a phono circuit built in
I currently own a McIntosh C220 tube pre amp that I bought for 2,500 used.  It fits my ears and system well. And you can always get your money back out of it as one side benefit of McIntosh is how most of their gear holds its value over time.
Recommendation on power amp
Me thinks the poor OP had his thread hi jacked by Both sides of a running dispute.Let it GO, please
Best song for immediate impact when presenting or testing?
Allman Brothers Band,  You Don,t Love Me, from Live at the Filmore.  Duane’s solo about 6 minutes in is so expressive and I also listen to the dual drummers.Second choice is Take Five on SACD
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
I started my speaker journey 50 years ago in the service with Sansui SP-100s.  I loved those speakers, never heard music sound so good as I only experienced cheap stereo before that. The journey went on to Big Advents in the 80s, Infinity’s in the ...
What area or country do you live in ?
Thomasville Georgia, south western Ga.  But I will always be from Pittsburgh.
Which area of components to spend the most $ on? Boy I was wrong all my life!
At the end of the day, the mix of components is constrained by the individual’s budget. In my case, I fell in love with the sound of Maggies, ending up with 3.6s.  Now this choice led me along a path of finding the amp that matched to my ears.My or...
Are high sample rates making your music sound worse?
Trying to compare diverse systems and their reactions to a single change is somewhat of a fools errand. The level of complexity introduced by so many different components, not to mention the quality of the source material makes what seems to be a s...
Favorite band or artist of all time?
Bdp24,Duane was one of those Muscle Shoals players, Wilson Pickett recorded a great version of Hey Jude with Duane Allman on guitar.  Among many other tracks he laid sown there.
Favorite band or artist of all time?
For me, it will always be the Allman Bros. Band with Duane Allman.  Saw him live in 71, he had The Touch on slide and the band was tight.  I still think Live at the Fillmore is the best kive album of all time.Just one old guys view.  Cream would b...
