Fozgometer V2
Do a search on these threads, on the subject of "Fozgometer" or "Azimuth".  You will find out about the good and the bad.  It's a controversial tool, to say the least.  I don't know whether version 2 is any different from or better than version 1....
Denon DL-103 retipped with micro ridge stylus on boron cantilever & denuded body
Steve, you do realize I am sure that by adding a brass plate to a DL103 you are surely increasing its weight by at least several grams, although we are not told the physical dimensions of the plate. Since that mass is added right over the stylus t...
A bit too "non-audiophile", but what are your favorite high-end tuners based on Looks?
10B for me. The materials quality is staggering.
Who Is An Expert On Acutex Cartridges?
FWIW, I used 1.6g for my LPM320 mounted in the headshell adapter, in my DV505. I didn’t experiment much with VTF because it sounded so good at 1.6. Some other setting might even be better. I’m also using 1.6 with the LPM mounted in the Saturn V.

Re-adjusted VTF on my MMC20CL, to 1.0g. That makes a much bigger difference than I expected. This is a really terrific cartridge. (I am understating my impression.) Better than the MMC1? Don’t know yet, and maybe I will never know since I knocked ...
Upgrade SUT For Denon DL103
dhcod, Can you say what it is that must have you at least vaguely dissatisfied with what you have got and why you think a "better" SUT is the solution to that problem?  Why, for example, do you rule out the cartridge or your phono stage,  or even ...
Reed 5T Opinions
Larry, Reports from my friend who has taken up a formal study of zenith error tend to agree with yours, to the effect that cartridge manufacturing errors are paramount in determining the error. Also, I agree with your point about inertial mass of...
Reed 5T Opinions
This bit about zenith is fun, and it probably does show us another way in which vinyl is flawed. Now I will go back to ignoring it and enjoying the music. For a perfectly constructed cartridge in a perfect conventional overhung pivoted tonearm, ze...
Reed 5T Opinions
Mijo, if you re-read my post I did qualify my remark about skating force with the phrase “in a conventional pivoted tonearm”, which the 5T, 5A, LT, Thales, etc, are not.
Reed 5T Opinions
"Normally this friction just generates heat." ...and the skating force in a conventional pivoted tonearm. The term "zenith" seems to have been re-invented for our particular obsession.  If you look it up, there is no dictionary definition that fi...
How do you arrange the order of your records?
This will be a long thread and will rapidly become repetitious.  Like others, I organize by genre first and then alphabetically according to musician, if jazz, R&B, or other.  If Classical, by composer.  If movie sound track, by movie title.

Max, if you are asking me about low riding, mine never was and is not a low rider.  What I said was that I had inadvertently adjusted VTA such that it was "higher in back" or tipped up with respect to the pivot.  Leveling it did improve the bass i...
tone arm with 10gr mass with 15 gram weight cartridge?
This is my last attempt to advise, Just do it.
Amazing Cartridge Repairs by Vinyl Audio Science!
You lost me at why you are averse to having a cartridge repaired in the UK, except for the new economic disconnect between the UK and EU. Doesn’t the same apply to doing business in the US? Also is there evidence that other repairers in the US  or...
tone arm with 10gr mass with 15 gram weight cartridge?
