Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch You are not alone! Several people report the same as you. I haven't been able to try it myself as I don't have any hardware capable of decoding 24/192, but I suspect I won't hear a difference either.
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch Mizuno,Did you mean to say you have yet not heard differences between 24/96 and 24/192 files?Maybe you could try John Swenson's software mods and decide for yourself between S/PDIF and USB from the Touch. The mods are resetable, just in case. I wo...
Noise, hum and AC polarity This is a great thread I have come back a couple of times to. Yesterday I checked this again, after making new power lines, duplex boxes, new duplexes, and new DIY power cords for my amp and pre. WTF!!!! What's wrong???Lamm LL2 pre: 120V, and 100V...
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch Mizuno: If I were to settle on S/PDIF output from the Touch I would probably choose the Bryston over the W4S DAC2 or DAC1. The big question in my mind is whether S/PDIF out is good out of the Touch. You might have heard about John Swenson's softwar...
computer audio question Steve,How is a Touch reclocked? I have one and I'm figuring out the best way to improve it's sound. It's stock, with std settings, and using its DAC too.Horacio
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch Ronrags: as you look into power upgrades for the Touch, don't overlook the battery-power alternatives for it.
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch FWIW, I'm also looking for a DAC to pair with my Touch, and my top list includes W4S DAC2, Bryston BDA-1, and possibly Burson DA-160 (to be released soon). All three have discrete analog sections. A couple forum members tried the DAC2 and BDA1 in ...
Connecting a SB Touch into Oppo BDP-95? Sleepysurf,I'm intrigued by how you are streaming 24/192 FLAC to the BDP-95. Please tell me more. I'm starting with computer music, so bare with me (I just use a PC and a SB Touch).Do you have a hard drive with 24/192 FLAC files attached to the BD...
Integrated amp, best conversion 220 to 110 volts? Many devices are built with a transformer that has taps for 220 and 110V. In that case all you need is a service technician that opens the unit and changes the taps from 220 to 110, and you are ready to go. Check if your Marantz is made like this....
NAS or USB drive to stream audio to a Squeezebox ? Medowman,How did you like the M1 paired with the Touch? Have you tried the Touch with other DACs?FWIW, I'm in a DAC hunt too, and considering the Bryston BDA-1. Getting very good feedback from several users, plus great reviews. Has discrete Class ...
Connecting a SB Touch into Oppo BDP-95? Rwwear: I did read it, but don't see where they explain this. Maybe it's this, which I cannot comprehend: "although it unofficially provides DNLA Server-like Experimental Functions”. Looking at the Oppo manual the user interface didn't seem friend...
Connecting a SB Touch into Oppo BDP-95? OK, contacted Modwright and Dan said he "doubts" he will offer the digital input option. He said performing that mod to the XA5400ES has proven very difficult and costly. So seems Touch and BDP-95 won't go hand in hand. Anybody using the USB or eSA...
Connecting a SB Touch into Oppo BDP-95? Sleepysurf,Thank you for posting that! I was so wanting someone to say so!!! Having a switch on the back would be a minor issue for me.It seems all DACs in the $2k price range would benefit from mods on the analog stage and clock, so starting with...
NAS or USB drive to stream audio to a Squeezebox ? Sorry I can't help here, yet I'm interested too as I'm also trying a Touch off a PC and planning on an outboard DAC down the road. You might want to check over at www.computeraudiophile.com as there are folks there trying all sorts of NAS/USB driv...
Dipping my toe into the high res waters I'm also starting with hi-resolution and got the Touch for the same reasons. You should be aware it can currently handle up to 24bit/96kHz, so depends on what you refer to as hi-rez. It won't do 192kHz, but then many who have been trying this for ... |
